We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Sheffield Wednesday are free to resurrect a move for unwanted Wolves defender Roger Johnson, after the loan window reopened for temporary business today.

WEST BROM

Turkish club Besiktas are claiming Joleon Lescott's wife prevented the defender making the move overseas, before he decided to sign for West Brom in the summer.

Besiktas vice-president Ahmet Nur Cebi insists "Lescott was a done deal" but, three days later, was informed his wife was not keen on the move.

The 32-year-old had been offered a two-year contract worth €2.5 million per-season by the Black Eagles, but decided to pen a same-term deal with the Baggies instead.

Meanwhile, West Brom scouts were spotted at Hartlepool's League Two clash with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish is apparently being watched by Chelsea, who are considering making a January move for the 18-year-old.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
