Baggies boss Alan Irvine is keen to add a wideman but appears to have been priced out of a move for the Parma star.

The Italian side want up to £8m for the 26-year-old, a figure Albion are unwilling to match with their valuation around £3m lower.

Biabiany, who impressed for Parma in their pre-season friendly at Villa last weekend, has been a fixture in Serie A for some years and has also been linked with Inter, Roma, Milan and Juventus this summer.

But reports now claim the Toffees have started talks with Parma in an effort to conclude a deal.

Despite being born in Paris, Biabiany has spent his whole career in Italy, bursting through at Inter Milan as a youngster before moving to Sampdoria and Parma.

Albion are in need of reinforcements out wide following the departure of former loanees Morgan Amalfitano and Scott Sinclair.

The club have denied reports linking them with West Ham's former Wolves man Matt Jarvis and Brighton's Will Buckley.
