Anthony Forde is set to sign for Walsall, Wolves boss Kenny Jackett confirmed today.

The winger is poised to move to the Banks's Stadium within the next day.

But he will not be play in the Saddlers' League Cup clash at Southend tomorrow as had to be signed by 12pm today to be eligible.

Forde made 28 appearances for Wolves – eight starts – after making his debut in a 4-0 League Cup win over Northampton in 2011.

He also made six Premier League appearances in the 2011-12 season and spent time on loan at Scunthorpe last year.

Jackett said: "Anthony is on the brink of signing for Walsall. It's a great chance and good opportunity, they want to take him permanently and not on loan.

"He had a day there training some while ago. We have brought people in, (Michael) Jacobs, (James) Henry and (Rajiv) van La Parra now and at times we have Eusebio who has got in ahead of him."

Forde, 20, only made five appearances for Wolves last season and hadn't played for Jackett since the 3-0 win at Colchester last October.
