The Mali international, who has a groin problem, won't be risked for the Molineux clash as it's considered too close to the season's opener against Norwich in nine days' time.

Head coach Kenny Jackett said: "Bakary won't be fit – he has a good chance for next week and we don't want to risk him with Norwich being the most important one."

Sako was injured in the warm-up before the Crewe game last Saturday and was pulled out, giving new signing Rajiv Van La Parra a start.

Then he missed Tuesday's 1-0 win at Oxford when Jackett played a shadow side.

But he is expected to be fully fit for the visit of the Canaries when Wolves kick off their return to the Championship in front of the live TV cameras.
