News of the staggering 8,800 following which will turn Wolves' first visit to stadium:mk into a mini-Molineux has set tongues wagging nationwide.

Head coach Jackett is honoured at the levels of backing which is a record away following at the 31,000-capacity ground, eclipsing the 7,000 fans Coventry took in November.

Wolves' away support is their biggest since taking 12,000 to Albion in December 1990 and will swell the crowd to around 18,000 – a record league gate at stadium:mk.

Dons' current record league crowd was 17,717 against Leicester in 2009, while the overall stadium marker is 19,506 for an FA Cup game with QPR in 2012.

Wolves need 15 points from their final eight games to guarantee automatic promotion after extending their lead on third-placed Leyton Orient to seven points with a match in hand after Tuesday's 4-2 win over Colchester.

And Jackett wants to repay the travelling hordes with a performance fitting of what is sure to be a carnival occasion.

"We're delighted with the level of support – to get this type of following for an away game is unique," said Jackett.

"It's not something I've experienced before.

"We really do want to want to put on a show for a considerable amount of people that are making the effort that want to come and watch us.

"We have to look forward to two hard away games but we really must grasp the opportunity and focus on Saturday with the crowd we have going and the day it's going to be.

"We have to look at that."

Many travelling fans were inspired by fans' campaign '10k2mk' on social media.

Jackett wants his players to embrace their position at the top and thrive in the role of being leaders.

"We're in a very tough run of games but these are important for the club," he said.

"It's not as easy as it looks but we have to keep going.

"Tuesday was a very good night with us winning, Brentford losing and Leyton Orient drawing.

"We can now look forward to the MK Dons game on Saturday and hopefully select from a fully fit squad.

"I was delighted with the quality we showed on Tuesday night."
