Kayleah Long took to Twitter to vent her anger after she claimed fans confronted Long on his way back to the car following the 2-0 defeat, with his daughter Teigan.

It is believed travelling fans, who were in fancy dress, were abusing Long after his fall in the box following a tussle for the ball with Craig Dawson led to a penalty award. The frontman later scored to put the victory beyond doubt for the Tigers.

Mr Long's wife, who wed the forward in June last year, dubbed the supporters involved 'vile' and 'sick and horrible'.

The mother-of-two wrote on Twitter: "Think it disgusting how people can abuse someone* in front of their child! You should be* ashamed!

"It's vile! Our daughter is four years old and cried as was worried for her* dad! Thank god I wasn't there."

One fan reminded Mrs Long that similar abuse was given to Jamie O'Hara at Wolves when he was carrying his son in 2012 after a 0-2 home loss to Blackburn, to which Mrs Long replied: "Yes I know* they did it to Jamie in front of his boys. I just can't understand how people think that is normal! #vile"
