The club said in a statement: "The Board of Directors would like to place on record their thanks to Andy and Craig for their efforts at Aggborough.

"The club feels that by making a change now, the team will have a better opportunity to not only finish the current season strongly but, will also be able to carry momentum forward into the start of a new season – whichever division we are in."

Current assistant Gary Whild will take the post of club manager with immediate effect until the end of the season.

Thorn was appointed Harriers boss by Mark Serrell on January 8th this year after predecessor Steve Burr left the club.

However, Serrell quit as chairman on February 22nd and Ken Rae was appointed as his replacement.

Thorn inherited a squad enjoying a strong run of form in the FA Cup and saw his side come back from two goals down to beat League One Peterborough United.

Joe Lolley sealed the winning goal for Harriers which proved to be his final act for the side before completing his move to Championship side Huddersfield Town.

Harriers then travelled to Premier League Sunderland in hope of causing an upset but suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat.

They have one just once in the Skrill Conference Premier since their FA Cup defeat and have slipped to 10th in the table after losing a 5-1 to Cambridge United last weekend.
