ALBION

Pepe Mel remains favourite to land the West Brom job and is due for further talks with the Baggies hierarchy today, with midfielder Zoltan Gera claiming that the Spaniard could have the 'Pochettino effect' at Albion.

Meanwhile, former Osasuna Jose Luis Mendilibar is also said to have emerged as a candidate for the role.

WOLVES

Boss Kenny Jackett has insisted that striker Leigh Griffiths will be staying put at Wolves, despite reports suggesting that the 23-year-old is looking for a return to Scotland.

Meanwhile, Jackett has also hinted that he will try to extend Michael Jacobs' Wolves loan after the winger scored his first goal for the club in the Boxing Day win over Crewe.
