Wolverhampton bike ace Andy Tennant struck gold in the European Track Championships, while Halesowen’s Jess Varnish won bronze.
Tennant helped the team pursuit squad into the final with Ed Clancy, Steven Burke and Sam Harrison in Apeldoorn in Holland.
Owain Doull replaced Harrison in the final and the squad powered to the win - beating Russia by just over a tenth of a second in four minutes two seconds.
Great Britain’s women destroyed Poland in their final – the event has been increased from 3km to 4km – by over nine seconds.
Varnish linked up with Becky James in the team sprint to take bronze. Dani King was second in the points race.
