Boxing star Martin Gethin will swap his gloves for shinpads when he turns out for Walsall FC Legends on Sunday.
British lightweight champion Gethin, a Walsall native and Saddlers fan, will turn out along with a host of club greats at Rushall Olympic’s Dales Lane home for the annual Fans v Legends fixture (kick-off 3pm).
Gethin came close to landing a world title shot in May, but lost an IBF final eliminator to Ammeth Diaz at Walsall Town Hall.
The 29-year-old could next face Commonwealth counterpart Derry Mathews.
On the pitch, Tony Barras, Ian Roper, Andy Reece and Darren Wrack have all confirmed their attendance for the Legends team.
The Walsall side will again be managed by Chris Marsh.
Mark Taylor, Tony Millard, Terry Angus and Neil Ironside are among other names set to feature in the Saddlers team.
Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions, with the match programme costing a further £1.
Raffle prizes include a VIP day in an executive box at the Banks’s Stadium.
