Fabrice Kasiama is reborn at Rangers

Stafford Rangers manager Greg Clowes today admitted he "froze out" Fabrice Kasiama to get a response from the team's new attacking star.

The 22-year-old had been overlooked for 15 games before answering a striking SOS last weekend, playing as a forward in the FA Trophy.

The DR Congo winger got the nod after striker Simon Everall left for league rivals Nantwich, with new signing Dean Oliver out injured.

After Kasiama acted as an ideal foil for hat-trick hero Danny Quinn in the 3-0 win over Ramsbottom United, the two again kept their places.

Kasiama tormented Chorley as Quinn got the goal in a 1-0 victory over the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League play-off chasers on Tuesday night.

And Clowes believes his forward find is finally starting to add application to potential after some tough love from the Rangers boss.

He said: "To be honest, I froze him out, he wasn't showing me the enthusiasm that I wanted at the start of the season.

"Reading between the lines, I think there was a bit of that before I arrived at Stafford in relation to him.

"I laid the gauntlet down to him - if you want to be a part of this squad and this team then you have got to work hard.

"His attitude has completely and utterly changed - and that's before I put him back in the team."

Quinn has got four goals in two games alongside Kasiama, who has had two on-off spells at Marston Road since 2009.

The Rangers' top scorer appears to be thriving alongside his latest strike partner and has been challenged to fill his boots.

Clowes said: "Danny's getting the service and playing with a smile on his face, he's got 12 goals by the end of October.

"I have had a little word in his ear about targets and his next is 20 goals, that's not unrealisitic considering where we are.

"I am delighted with him and his strike partner, we have shoved Fabrice up top and allowed him to do what he wants.

"He's one of these that, sometimes, doesn't know what he's doing himself, so that chance has a defender got?

"He gives us that little burst of pace over 12 yards and, to be honest, has added a different dimension to the team."
