Transfer rumours – January 31

Expressandstar.com brings you the latest transfer deadline day talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa, Birmingham and Walsall.

We have scoured the back pages and the internet to bring you the latest gossip.

We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy will decide over the next 24 hours whether to sign 28-year-old free agent Mark Fotheringham.

Wolves will try and push through a loan deal for Newcastle’s Leon Best.

Wolves are still interested in Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard but the deal looks unlikely to go through today.

WEST BROM

The Baggies have apparently made a fresh move for Birmingham City’s Liam Ridgewell. They’re hoping to beat Stoke for the defender’s signature.

West Brom have made an inquiry for FC Twente’s Swedish winger Emir Bajrami – although our man at The Hawthorns Steve Madeley thinks that this is unlikely to happen.

ELSEWHERE

Nothing on the radar at the moment – but keep checking back to see if any last-minute deals get made.
