Transfer rumours – January 7

Expressandstar.com bring you transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa, Birmingham and Walsall.

We have scoured the back pages and the internet to bring you the latest gossip.

We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

ASTON VILLA / WEST BROM

Alex McLeish is preparing a move for Albion centre-back Jonas Olsson as a replacement for James Collins, who is wanted by QPR.

WOLVES

Hibernian have extended their loan of Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths, who has scored four times in 18 games for them since moving in August, until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, a trio of Championship sides are reported to be tracking Wolves defender George Elokobi, who is thought to want more regular football.

WEST BROM

Roy Hodgson is closing in on the capture of Dundee United’s Scott Allan, having had a £300,000 offer accepted for the 20-year-old back in December.

Hodgson has also ruled out the possibility of Simon Cox leaving the club, despite his struggle for first-team opportunities.

ASTON VILLA

The deal to bring Robbie Keane to Villa Park on a two-month loan deal appears to be nearing completion, with some sources suggesting he could sign as early as Monday.

Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has confirmed that London side have made an offer to Aston Villa for on-loan defender Shane Lowry.

BLUES

St Etienne midfielder Guirane N’Daw has extended his loan with Chris Hughton’s side until the end of the season after impressing in recent performances.

WALSALL
