Rangers boss wants three in a row
Tuesday 20th December 2011, 6:30AM GMT.
Stafford Rangers manager Greg Clowes today challenged his side to build on Saturday’s victory over Frickley with back-to-back wins over the festive period.
Rangers won at home in the league for only the second time this season and now go to Nantwich on Boxing Day, before the derby game against Hednesford at Marston Road on January 2.
Clowes’ men haven’t won three Evo-Stik Northern Premier League games in a row since joining the division in the summer, with Rangers sitting two points away from the top 10.
Saturday’s victory ended a five-game winless run and the manager knows consistency will make all the difference as the team look to move forward.
Up-and-down form this season has left Rangers 12th and Clowes wants Rangers performing regularly in the second half of the campaign.
He said: “The one thing we haven’t done this season is win three games in a row.
“If you do that in this league, all of a sudden you move up by three or four positions.
“The league is split into three for me and we are in the same boat as probably 10 teams in this league – inconsistent.
“You are either good every week, like the top seven are, inconsistent, like we are, or poor, where the bottom four are!”
