Stourbridge set for cash jackpot after Plymouth replay is picked for ESPN

Stourbridge were today guaranteed to pocket £33,750 in television money after their FA Cup replay with Plymouth was picked for live broadcast by ESPN.

The Glassboys’ money-spinning first-round tie will be beamed nationwide next Tuesday at 7:15pm, after their thrilling 3-3 draw at Home Park on Saturday.

The clubs will share the £67,500 TV pot – with the winners of the tie landing an extra £18,000 in FA prize money.

And chairman Ian Pilkington insisted boss Gary Hackett and his players deserve their chance in the spotlight.

Pillkington said: “We know financially what it’s going to mean, it’s there in black and white, but we are going to be nationwide and people will see Stourbridge in all its glory.

“It’s £33,750 each and Plymouth will be just as thankful for the money. The players, Gary and his staff deserve a chance to show it on national TV – it’s great.”
