David Hankin eyes a Harriers recall
Wednesday 26th October 2011, 9:40PM BST.
Kidderminster Harriers winger David Hankin is expecting a battle to get back into the team as he edges closer to full fitness after an ankle injury.
The 25-year-old could return to the squad for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at home to Corby after making a quicker-than-expected recovery.
Hankin has been out for the last eight games but was in the starting line-up before picking up the injury in training, the day before a game at Mansfield.
His return also gives Harriers the option to play 4-4-2 but Hankin is taking nothing for granted, having been out of the squad earlier in the season.
He said: “There’s at least two players for every position but it’s good having that competition, because it makes you better as a player.
“It makes you work harder and want it more when you are out of the squad and, when you get the chance, you have got to play well to stay in.”
