Albion sell Pablo Ibanez to Blues
Wednesday 31st August 2011, 10:44PM BST.
Albion have sold Pablo Ibanez to neighbours Birmingham despite drawing a blank in their efforts to sign a loan defender.
The 30-year-old Spaniard, who has struggled to force his way into the Baggies first-team, has moved to St Andrew’s for an undisclosed fee.
His departure came just hours after Marek Cech completed his move to Turkish club Trabzonspor and teenage defender James Hurst joined Blackpool on a season-long youth loan.
The Baggies did not add any new faces on the final day of the transfer window, despite late-night attempts to recruit a defender on loan.
