Villa are considering a move for Hamburg full-back Guy Demel should they fail to conclude a £4million deal with Tottenham over Alan Hutton.
Villa a are weighing up a bid for Fulham forward Clint Dempsey. They would face possible competition from Newcastle.
Villa have been linked with a possible pay-as-you play move for Albion target Owen Hargreaves. He is also being linked with Tottenham.
Jean Makoun has joined reigning Greek champions Olympiakos on a season-long loan.
BLUES
Blackburn have agreed a £5million fee with Blues for defender Scott Dann in a bid to head off competition from ambitious QPR.
Blues will face competition from Cardiff for Coventry City’s Ben Turner.
