“Top of the League,” for the second time this campaign, albeit, briefly! Still undefeated in the League. One hard-earned point, taken away from home, made more difficult by doing so against a local rival. A second consecutive clean sheet, whete the League’s two-time goal scoring champion was held in-check. Third match running where we started with a settled XI team sheet. Our fans, it appeared, out-sung and cheered the home support off the park, who booed their own team off the pitch.
By our standards, our new ones that is, consensus is we feel we could and should have done better. That we took all that out of the match, well, not bad, not too bad at all!

Also, great move by Mick, unpopular in the moment, but necessary and a gutsy one to make, with a double substitution for our ineffective and run ragged international wingers, Hunt and Jarvis, for two defensive covers in Foley and Elekobi, respectively. It stemmed the Villa onslaught, settled our midfield and gave our defenders a break from being on the back-foot. Mick, well done, you made a tough but needed call!

We would have lost this game last year playing like that but now we have learnt how to grind an away result even when we’re not firing on all cylinders.
Keeps a good feel around the place going into international break. Well done all

Good point fron disappointing game. Not sure about Stears at r/b,would prefer Foley there.Berra looks quite solid with Magic Johnson.Good tactical switch by Mick, but big George is dodgy to say the least.I really think that Wolves will finish above Veee-la,and Darren Bent will move.
Three cheers for Stephen Ward-First name on the team sheet in my view.

I heard commentators on Saturday refer to Ward as a player of quality. Looking at his performances thus far they are clearly right. he is outstanding in a quiet way and I for one am delighted for him. He is the sort of player all teams need. Well done Steve and to all his doubters, take an unbiased look at him against spurs and you will see…… quality.
