Carling Cup third round draw

Wolves are the only West Midlands team to avoid an all-Premier League tie in the Carling Cup third round.

In the draw made today, Mick McCarthy’s men were handed a home game against Championship club Millwall at Molineux.

Albion face a tough trip to Everton in the third round, while Carling Cup holders Birmingham also travel to moneybags Manchester City.

Aston Villa are the only West Midlands side to play a Premier League side at home, with Bolton the visitors.

Nice away tie, it will give our young, bright sparks a wonderful day out. Don’t forget to watch them Mr. Pearce. All big three have done well. Wolves need it easy after all the difficult games they have had to endure, ask Odd Fellow and Laughingwolf.

    We only need one half!

I just hope we decide early on whether we want this cup or not, was not happy last year when we were putting out the likes of Man City early on, only to go half arsed into the game against Ipswich, and only two games from a European spot. After all Blues had nothing we didn’t have last season, and look at them now in The Europa League. That could have easily been us (especially has Ipswich went on to play Arsenal, who we bested last season!) I would have fancied us in the final against Blues too, given our two league results against them. Definitely a chance lost.

When you say about Blues ‘look at them now’ I’m guessing you’re only using one eye to do that.

Tough draw for the 3rd round. I say play the kids. Everton will more than likely do the same and if the Albion do win we should probably start to take it more seriously for the quaters etc.

Wolves should beat Millwall but should be wary. Championship clubs are no pushovers. Villa, Bolton, same tactics as the Baggies, Villa win. Blues shouldn’t even bother against Man C. They’ve got enough on thier plate as it is. Give Europe a good go Bluenoses, forget this cup.

6)Agree with you, why black, and the collar is a different colour.Copying the Rugby team.
8)In the past wolves on occasion have been the instigators of the violence,i can go back to the 80s when the the houses were demolished and wolves fans used the bricks for ammo.

Millwall, that will do me. A winnable tie.

Also 7 points from the first 9, again a great result and tangible evidence the plan is working.

It is happy days right now to be a Wolves fan.

    Cmon you Wolves!

    10) TRBH Obviously I was referring to being in Europe, not there current domestic status, the fact we were already safe by the time of the semi’s, we couldn’t have possibly gone the same way.

We haven’t played anyone yet. We have two workhorses at the front in Doyle and Fletcher, and a third one in Vokes, but we have no out and out goalscorer. Until we get a “fox in the box” expect more dire games like the Villa.
