Phil Taylor books Wolverhampton date
Friday 19th August 2011, 8:00AM BST.
Darts legend Phil ‘the Power’ Taylor will return to Wolverhampton a month ahead of schedule as the star attraction of a special exhibition.
Taylor bids to reclaim the Grand Slam he won for the first three years of it’s inception at Wolverhampton Civic Hall in November, where Scott Waites will be the defending champion.
But first ‘the Power’ will stop by Wolverhampton’s Rileys Sports Bar, Broad Street, to entertain fans on Friday October 14.
When Taylor opened the club’s ‘darts zone’ two years ago, he was the reigning Grand Slam champion and had won the 14th of his 15 world titles that January.
Now the 51-year-old returns enjoying a renaissance and, after claiming the World Matchplay and European Championship titles this year, looks back to his best.
And punters will get the chance to take on ‘the Pele of darts,’ with competitions to be held over the coming weeks to win a leg against Taylor.
There will also be a ‘golden ticket’ draw on the night, where a member of the audience will be drawn at random to play a leg against Taylor.
And, when ‘the Power’ has done his bit, there will be a disco and late bar after the exhibition.
Tickets are just £5 each and can be purchased from the club or by calling 01902 310 521.
