Transfer rumours – July 28

Expressandstar.com bring you the latest transfer gossip on Wolves, Albion, Villa, Birmingham and Walsall.

We have scoured the back pages and the internet to bring you the latest gossip.

We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

ALBION
Neil Lennon and Celtic are trying to lure highly rated West Bromwich Albion defender Donervon Daniels to Scotland, according to skysports.com. Having come through the ranks at the Hawthorns, it is believed the club will be keen to keep hold of one of their own homegrown talents, and will attempt to ward off interest from the Hoops. On Twitter, the youngster wrote: “GiveMeFootball and Sky Sports! Are Talking Like They Know if I’m going or staying! I just want to enjoy my football!!”

Ben Foster is on the verge of agreeing a loan move to West Bromwich Albion and Liam Ridgewell is set to follow him to The Hawthorns in a £2m permanent deal as the exodus of players from Birmingham City gathers momentum in the wake of their mounting financial problems. Boaz Myhill may head to Blues.

Foster and West Ham goalkeeper Rob Green remain key targets for the Baggies and a shotstopper should be one of two new arrivals to be confirmed “in the coming days or weeks”, according to Sky.

VILLA
With a deal for Charles N’Zogbia almost done, Alex McLeish conceded the Frenchman’s arrival will probably be the last before the end of the summer.

Bolton have completed the signing of midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker. The 27 year old has been a free agent since his contract with Premier League rivals Aston Villa expired earlier this summer.

WOLVES
Leicester City are looking to beat Wolves to Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson. Sven Goran Eriksson is closing on a loan deal for the 23-year-old.

Ex-Wolves midfielder Dave Jones, who left at the end of his contract this summer, could go to Blues.

BLUES
Besides the likely departures of Ben Foster and Liam Ridgewell, Chris Hughton is on the verge of completing a move for ex-Wolves midfielder Dave Jones.

He is also locked in talks with the Baggies over including Wales international Boaz Myhill as part of the deal that will see Foster quit for the Hawthorns. Myhill will complete a tour of three west Midlands clubs as the shot-stopper was a trainee at Aston Villa.

WALSALL

After the signing of midfielder Anton Peterlin on a one-year contract, nothing new today.
