Kidderminster Harriers are prepared to shell out a fee to bring Nuneaton midfielder Kyle Storer to Aggborough.

Harriers have already agreed an undisclosed figure with the Blue Square North club for the 24-year-old, which will remain a secret, for a player who is a hot commodity after 16 goals last season.

Storer was also a target for other clubs but Harriers have stole a march by having a bid accepted, with a verbal agreement thought to have been reached over personal terms.

With Harriers splashing the cash to get their man, the club will look to pin the player down to at least a two-year contract, hoping to protect their investment in the highly-rated midfielder.

Work will continue to get the deal done behind the scenes as the team gear up for their first pre-season friendlies, which start at Bishops Cleeve tomorrow before trips to Stratford on Thursday and Leamington on Saturday.

It's unlikely Storer will play any part this week as his deal is not yet done, but Harriers already have 10 new signings to choose from.

And assistant boss Gary Whild has revealed the players are champing at the bit to get back into action after their summer break.

He said: "The guys want to get into games as quickly as possible and they have a great opportunity to do that, with three games in seven days, so they are looking forward to that.

"We'll be tested in each game and we're expecting a good work-out and are looking to play at a good tempo. It is all about getting the lads some game time.

"We want to get back into the habits we had last season and the lads have already been training very hard."
