Simon Cox hails Roy Hodgson’s faith

Albion striker Simon Cox has hailed boss Roy Hodgson for restoring ‘faith’ in the team.
Cox, who netted the Baggies’ spectacular equaliser at Tottenham on Saturday to take them to 40 points, believes new head coach Hodgson has brought belief back to the camp.
Hodgson took over in February after Albion ended Roberto Di Matteo’s reign with a depressing slide towards relegation.
And Cox said: “Roy has come in and restored faith in us. We were probably a little bit down under Robbie towards the end. We were playing well but we just weren’t grinding out results.
“Roy has come in and said ‘you’re all good players and you all want to stay in this league so let’s go out and prove it’ and that’s what we’ve done. We’re more organised.
“In training day in, day out, he works on pattern of play and shape and attacks versus defence and that’s what we needed really.
“Liverpool’s loss is definitely our gain. He has been brilliant for us. In the first game he came to watch we were 3-0 up against West Ham and ended up drawing 3-3. God knows what he was thinking at the time.
“We were meant to have a couple of days off and he said ‘you’re not having them, we need to get on the training pitch and do the hard graft.’
“It has paid dividends for us.”
