Chris Morris set to join Chasetown

Top scorer Chris Morris is on the verge of quitting Rushall Olympic for Evo-Stik Premier side Chasetown.

Morris has spearheaded Olympic’s push for an Evo-Stik First Division South play-off spot this season.

But the former Hednesford and Stourbridge striker has been tempted to play at a higher level.

Pics boss Neil Kitching said: “To jump ship with 10 games to go – I find it amazing.

“They have got nothing to play for but we have everything to play for. Someone has obviously got into his head.”

Kitching has also released former Stafford Rangers striker Chris Sterling and is looking to sign Leek frontman Leon Ashman as a replacement.

The manager said: “Chris made an intial impact but wasn’t happy at sitting on the bench in the last couple of games.

“He showed his displeasure on Saturday and I can’t have people who aren’t pulling in the same direction as the rest of the lads.

“Leon is someone we’ve had good reports about and he has played well against us when we’ve faced him.”

Olympic go to Rainworth Miners Welfare tonight looking for their third straight league victory.

Mitchell Tolley and Sean Platt are back after suspension and illness respectively.
