wolves deperately need a striker that will actually score goals regularly!! 11 premier league goals from all our strikers simply is not good enough. we are in the bottom 3 on merit, so something needs to be done today to give us a chance of being out of it come may.

We need defenders left back and a centre half! Wolves will have s chance if we push the boat out but with the miserly moxey in situ it won’t happen. Wolves will be relegated unless the defence gets new blood in! With jamie joining us I think 4-5-1 is the way forward!

There’s a rumour that we’re going to try and sign the hearts and Scottish International left back Lee Wallace again. I’ve never seem him play, but he does seem to be ighly rated and seeing that Jelle went home we have never bothered to fill that position, so hopefully that will be something positive today.

I think that all of the Midlands clubs have managed to pull of a coup. Albion (Vela), Wolves (O’Hara, Hammill) Villa (Bent, Makoun) Blues (Bentley, Martins) excellent work.

I really want West Ham to go down with their horrible owners and apart from derby days it would great to see the Midlands 4 stay up.

Wigan, West Ham and Blackpool for relegation.

I cant see west ham going down now with keane and a few other gd signings.Blackpool wont go down either they have done to well .Wigan, blues and wolves to go down and that really kills me 2 say.Us wolves just lack something this season and with are 2 new signings mick wont play them anyway,he would rather play hunt and ward who in my opinion are both really poor.Doyle just doesnt seem to want to play for wolves anymore and thinks he is a lot better than he is ,beacause he has been poor this season if he stayed in the box he would score more.Come on happy clappers come and have a dig at what ive said im waiting but can any of u really see us staying up.

I have tried to stay positive all season, but i have to agree i really can’t see wolves staying up now. The failure to take any points from the 2 games against wigan and only 1 out of the 2 against west ham looks like come may will be results that will be coming back to haunt us.

I dont understand why Wolves have not gone in for Stephen Warnock. Proven premiership left back who villa are desperate to get rid off! I see he may now go to liverpool but perhaps if we had acted sooner we may have stole a march on them and finally got ourselves a solid LB.

Would be delighted if we could sign a centre back today but cant see it happening! At least we have O’Hara who if he can stay fit could provide us with some real quality in midfield. I agree with post 3 that 4-5-1 is probably the way to go now with Henry sitting behind O’Hara and Milijas.

Not sure if any deals will be done today at the baggies. Most of the rumours this morning are regarding european strikers but logistically you cannot see these deals happening (ie medicals transport ect ect).

Love the link between Liverpool and Ashley Young. Especially when Young has gone on record as saying he’s not prepared to move from his Hertfordshire home! Now if you had of said Man City, I could go for that. They could afford to move his house brick by brick!

Reminds me of Savage moving to Blackburn from Blues to be nearer his parents home in Wrexham. Then realising he had to travel a further 2 1/2 miles further LOL!!!

What ever is wrong with some of you fellow Wolves fans, some of the names being mentioned are a total waste of breath, phillips ( to f****** old ) warnock ( didn’t cut it at liverpool nor villa ) why would we want him. agree wih coment about Henry ( he might aswell be Lenny ) how many more midfield players does he want, now that o’hara, and Hammill are on board, david Jones should be in the team ahead of Henry, alongside Milijas, was when the team were performing best. Stephen Ward must be McCarthy’s secret lovechild, as he never fails to make the team, hopefully Slyvan comes through the reserve outing and then comes straight back into the side, he WILL get us goals, given a good run. Jarvis needs to up his game again after looking full of promise before being rejected by Capeelo for England call up. How could he possibly be behind both Lennon and Wright-Phillips, who can both run quite fast but couldn’t cross a ball into a dangerous area if either tried, very similar to Tony Daley when he played on our right wing.McCarthy should play players in their proper positions and stop p****** about.

O’Hara a good signing if he is fit enough. If so, should walk straight into the midfield with Milijas, IMO.

Fletch/Doyler/SEB (2 from 3, with Fletch the pick, IMO)

    Hunt/Jarvo/Hammil (2 from 3 for the wings)

    Milijas/O’Hara central midfield

Defense, oh dear, still 2 short at least LB + CB, + Berra (just) and Zubes. Maybe Foley RB, Zubes moving over. Mancienne could do a job, but likely to be ot for awhile. If KH, is looking for a spot, how about LB, can’t be any worse than those already tried.

Disappointed transfer window (so far?!), with 2 prime weaknesses not addressed LB + CB. Little ambition really shown (probably), Morgan + Moxey counting the beans!!

Really nice to see a quality signing in Jamie O’hara coming our way – never thought he’d come because he’s always seemed like a southerner through and through.

BUT WHY HAVE WE NOT SIGNED A LEFT BACK? Warnock looks like he’s going back to Liverpool, Van Aalhort went to Leicester, Bridge at WHU, Konchesky’s just gone to Derby (although i’m aware he can’t play for another PL club this season)… plenty of left backs and we’re not even sniffing at them. Even Shorey would be better than what we have and he can’t get a starting place at the baggies!

Contracts mean nothing in this day and age! If he does go, I can only presume its because we will get better money with him being a premiership player at the moment than next season playing the Championship!

I personally think Wolves would prefer to be relegated. It would work well with their plans for the extension of the club. Lower diversion, lower numbers, less season ticket holders to accommodate. Also ex-amount of million for getting relgated (sure its around £40m?) and with the thinking of being promoted the season after. I think the club will be a yo-yo club for finance reasons!

O’Hara is potentially a great signing, but will only be a bench warmer. Karl “the Crab” Henry will always get McCarthy’s vote as love child number 2, after Ward of course !!.Incidentally Henry made more forward passes yesterday than he has for past few years, albeit purely as he faced his old club !. Still far too many dodgy backpasses yesterday in general from our defense(good job Stoke were abysmal too). Quicker Mick realises that Henry is absolute tripe and plays Milijas with O’Hara the better. Also inclined to give Hammill the nod ahead of Hunt for a few games. Elokobi also shocking and Konchesky would have been a good aquisition for us. 3 points a must against Bolton. fingers crossed ! UTW

O’hara is a brilliant signing but I fear he will be on the bench or played out of position like so many of our players. Henry needs to be dropped. I love his passion for our club and I’ve got no doubt he makes a great ambassador for our club on and off the field but he lacks quality and o’hara along with milijas would have plenty of it. They are both very attacking minded players but also work hard defensively. Would love a cheeky loan deal for Lescott before the deadline. He’s not getting played at man city and he’s came out previously and stated he’d consider returning to the Golden palace.

Can’t believe Sandwell town (other abusive words available) managed to get Carlos vela which is a brilliant signing for them lot.

From whats been said today aswell it looks almost certain thats our transfer dealings done so no replacement for van damme then. Maybe it would be owrth giving Hunt a go at left back as he has played there in the past before and surely can’t do any worse and then give Hammill a start and see what he can do over 90mins.

First its most important NOT to lose our better players like JARVIS, MILIJAS, DOYLE & ETC to other clubs so WELL DONE

I think the signings in Hammil & O´hera are CLASS signings WELL DONE AGAIN… BUT, we are putting way too much faith in our deffence !

Stearman – good player linked with other prem teams in the past BUT still young and error prone.

Craddock – class player got a cool head on him but he´s 35 ! & struggling to shake an injury at the mo.

Mouyokolo – ? no impact what so ever thus far

Zubar – class act on is day, odd his day he´s likley to score a goal… own goal that is.

Berra – less prone to errors more proe to giving silly free kicks away.

Mancienne – injured. Aint been the same player we first saw here to be honest.

Ward – forward, Leftback, Winger both sides, EVEN MESSI DOESNT PLAY THAT MANY POSITIONS LOL !!!

Elokobi – Great lad to have in your squad, built like a tank, bit on the short side doh and gets caught out of position way to often.

Foley – At right back is i my opinion the only one who´s just about consistant enough to be a prem defender.

THAT´S MY HONEST OPINION, ALL PLAYERS ABOVE I CANT FAULT FOR EFFORT, BUT THAT ONLY GET YOU SO FAR AGAINST TEVEZ AND TORRES ETC

THRE IS STILL TIME ! GET THAT STOKE LAD IN QUICK BEFORE CELTIC GET HIM ! HE WAS PLAYER OF THE SEASON AT STOKE NOT LONG AGO AND ONLY LOST HIS PLACE TO RYAN SHAWCROSS WHOS GOING REPLACE TERRY FOR ENGLAND IN TIME, SO GO GET FAYE !

This transfer window has been a sham if you ask me with mick. I mean fair enough Hamill does look brilliant but you could tell straight away hes not a mcarthy player. He likes to get into good advnaced positions so he won;t last here or will be put out of position like he was against Liverpool making him look bad.O’Hara quality player got to say but like everyone else has said he lacks match practice.I mean have you noticed only premiership players we have actually gone for have been injured and only coming back? This lacks ambition I mean look at Blackpool. Getting players like Andy Reid and Craig Beattie are better than some of garbage in this club like Hunt and Doyle and then they are going for a striker from Zenit St Petersberg. i mean this is what Mcarthy should be doing really exploring players in Europe if he can’t afford Premiership players. Morgan surely should have seen this club is going to go anywhere with this manager and that were going to be in the championship unless we change this manager to stop us playing this poor championship football and play football with premiership class with flair!

no47, I am as frustrated as you,but your comments on Mick’s judgement on players is unfair.18months ago according to reports Mick had identified Carroll and Adams, but the guys at the top failed to conclude the deals. These two players are likely to go tonight for a total of £50m. A complete lack of vision and a short sighted penny pinching mentality in the Boardroom that is the problem at Wolves.

Oh thank heavens we didn’t waste any money on some defenders. We’ve only conceded 41 goals in 23 games what’s wrong with that?

And anyway didn’t you lot hear after the Liverpool game – MM stated that the problem was we lacked quality in front of their goal. The defeat was due to not being able to score 4 against Liverpoool – not the conceding of 3 goals!

Bloke’s a muppet and we are doomed while he is in charge!

Very disappointed that it seems we wont be signing another centre half. Berra and Stearman are erratic at best, Craddock will take time to get back to a decent level, if ever given his age, Mancienne is out and Moyokolo seems about as fitness dependent as Darren Anderton was at the moment.
McCarthy has obviously noticed this, given his attempt to sign Woodgate and enquiries elsewhere, so why all of a sudden have we finished conducting incoming business for the day? Championship beckons in my opinion.

On a different note, wbabomber, aren’t you the resident blogger for Albion? If so, I’d have thought you’d know its ‘etc’ which is short for et cetera, not ‘ect’ as you repeatedly type…

Thats seems to be it then,no strengthening of the back 4.I believe if the back four had been strengthened, players picked on form in positions they can play and the correct system chosen then all would not be lost.I fear however continually leaving better players on the bench than those on the pitch will be theIR undoing. How can Ebanks Blake.Fletcher and Vokes not offer more upfront than Ward. All Wolves fans will want them to remain in the top division but many will question whether what has not happened today and what has happened previously will in the end be too much of an handicap. Most if not all of the teams in the dogfight have been involved in player movement,it cannot be thaT Wolves’ relative inaction is because they believe THEY are better equiped already,SURELY NOT.

    So here goes:
Mick is the best manager we have had for the last 30yrs!
Mick is an accomplished premiership manager, his record at being the worst manager by winning 16 games out of 100,shows and justifies the few who say “mick the best”.
We should all be proud our Manager holds a record not many other Managers can get a look in,when MICK is about.
Mick as shown tremendous quality by playing SQUARE PEGS in ROUND HOLES!Sir Alex cant even do this.
Mick shows that his training methods work a treat, take HENRY for example, who else in this division is able to pass the ball back to the GOALKEEPER with such regularity?Henry is the leader in this partcular category, yet MAJORITY of the so called wolves fans want him out.
Take WARD for example Mr.Versatile, who puts in tremendous effort and shift in everygame, and as only cost us a mere 9 games!Yet you want this lad out ?NUMPTIES.
Then there is the great “DOYLE” he works so hard to make sure he does not get into scoring positions, and puts in so much graft to chest the ball and lose it,that some NUMPTIES cant and wont appreciate his dying for the cause attitude.
Mick and his defenders work so hard to make deliberate mistakes so we as a club, can get into the record books for concedeingthe most goals.Yet You NUMPTIES want new DEFENDERS!
Mick loves the club so much, that this man as made it his personal agenda to save wolves 40million on ground development.By trying oh so hard to get attendances reduced,so we dont have to increase seating capacity!Yet you NUMPTIES have a go at him for not caring.!
He cares so much for the club and some of his players that gained wolves promotion, that he spends 7million on a player,to insure he keeps the bench warm SO when our beloved ward comes off his back—- does not get cold.!Yet you NUMPTIES want more from our overworked MANAGER!!Who also sits at the top for the most GAMES lost this season in the premiership.Another record yet no appreciation of the BOSS!Shame on you.
Do you know ?Mick had an awful week when we beat liverpool,as he lost his record of having gained only 1point in away games, which was the best record in all the leagues, this man suffered nightmares for losing this record of lowest points in all FOUR divisions! All four divisions something we should have been proud of!Yet NUMPTIES on here still cant be happy!

Reading have signed two players – does that make way for Matt Mills to come up to West Brom.
Rumour Niko Kranjaer on loan to West Brom. Anyone else out there picking these up?
Surely the biggest problem we have is we have to offload to bring in Bednar hasn’t gone and neither has Meite yet. I’d send Meite to Celtic on a free just to get him off the wage bill.

While we sleep in our beds MICK is awake looking at you tube for players to help in improving and setting more records.
Only Mick is capable of playing a STRIKER at left back, and then the following week back to playing a STRIKER,yet most managers have difficulty getting strikers to just play as strikers in the PREMIERSHIP!Yet you NUMPTIES have the cheek to question him!
MICK is also wanting and is most likely to suceed in us getting relegated by spending the least MONEY!This on its own is some acheivement,we have never had a MANAGER of MICKS calibre, look at how all the players play for him,one only as to look at the worn out grass on our pitch,to realise that our players work harder than any other team in the premiership so hard that they have created holes in the pitch!JUST so we continue our goal of setting new records in this league!
So get real and join the likes of me Sir Billy Quiet,Kentish wolf and follow our team,a team that is reaching new heights in our HISTORY!A team that as been trained to look BAD,A team who spends so much time on the training pitch so that on play days they can insure that they play one-touch football, this is so difficult that they spend extra time in training to insure that they are able to pass in an instance to the opponent.
Long live the best manager in “30yrs” HE IS THE BEST FORGET THE REST AS HE AS BEEN THROUGH A MANY A TEST AND REMAINS A PEST TO THE OPPOSITION MANAGERS!As they never get credit for a win as MICK wins all the plaudits for our LOSS!

Mick McCarthy & Clipboard Connor are simply not good enough. Our transfer activity in January is pityful and as a season ticket holder I hold you responseable. Unless RDM or Mick McCarthy have their own secret wealth of money to dispose of on our teams don’t blame them for today’s activities or lack of it. They have to follow the lines set down by their chairmen / financial directors and we have a different take in the black country to other areas. You can’t blame the managers for that.
They have both steered teams with low budgets to more than respectable positions.
Even as a Baggie I can’t quite get my head round some of the critisism they are both getting today. They will both be working hard to bring players in and they don’t need armchair experts to tell them the positions that need strengthening.
I’d have loved to see RDM bring in Sturridge in from Chelsea on loan but I guess his wages made that a non starter no matter how much love there is from Stamford bridge to one of their old heroes.
Some of the folkes on here need a reality check.

Been a wolves fan for many years now and can say im a little dissapointed with the transfer window in january.. O’Hara(quality) and Hammill(looks good) good signings of course but we need more quality in defence. Compare to other teams we fight along and the business they have done..Blues (Bentley, Curtis Davies, MARTINS!), Hammers (Demba Ba, KEANE, McCallum, Gary O’Neill, Bridge..), Baggies (VELA) ..and so bad we meet Bolton now with their new loan striker STURRIDGE!!

Blackpool(cant count how many signings they made, but im stunned!) Blackburn (player from barcelona b-team and argentinian…WOW) LIVERPOOL also made a good window bringing suarez and carroll though i think they overpayed heavily on Carroll..Villa signed BENT who always scores..lets hope for a miracle..Henry behind Milijas and O’Hara in 5-men midfield if henry has to play. Edwards and Jones before Henry IMO! But even better Guedioura when he comes back..

We have good wingers(Hunt,Jarvis,Hammill,Mujangi-bia,Kightly)..get the ball to them instead of back to keeper! Play positive football again as when henry was injured..berra-craddock again please! Hahnemann?? SEB on top..or Fletch(or both if Henry is dropped..Doyler dont score enough..

Only my words this, but doesnt look too good..hope Guedioura comes back soon..

If Mick McCarthy thinks we can stay in the premiership with the players we have beggars belief.
I have supported the Wolves since 1960 and I have never seen such a lack of ambition in the club since the Bhatti Brothers. We don’t seem to want to try and estabilish ourselves in the Premiership like Stoke, Bolton, even Blackpool have made a couple of good signings that will probable ensure the have another season in the top flight.
I guess the stadium plans will now be put on hold.
With the present management the club is going nowhere but down.
