16:55: A thoroughly miserable afternoon for Wolves and Albion in the Premier League today, after both were beaten in games that they could have really done with winning.
Wolves never really recovered from the shock of yet another early goal at Blackpool, who went two up before half-time, with Mick McCarthy’s men pulling one back but failing to get the equaliser.
Albion once again were the victims against their bogey team Stoke, who ran out 3-0 winners in a game that did not reflect the scoreline, especially with two contentious penalties.
Hats off to Birmingham after they piled on the misery for champions Chelsea at St Andrew’s, winning a one-goal game in the most famous result Blues have ever had in the Premier League.
And there was even a win for Walsall, who eased the pressure on manager Chris Hutchings with a home win over Carlisle, but three points was not enough to lift them off the foot of League One.
Villa, who could have new signing Robert Pires in their ranks, go to Blackburn tomorrow in the 1:30pm Premier League kick-off.
16:50: Full-time around the grounds across the country.
16:48: GOAL! How Albion have managed to lose this game 3-0 win only they know, but Stoke are comfortable winners today after substitute Jonathan Walters second goal of the game deep into stoppage time.
16:48: Bolton have completed a rout of Newcastle at the Reebok Stadium with a 5-1 win, Kevin Davies’ second penalty of the game, given after the goalscorer was fouled by Jose Enrique.
16:41: GOAL! It’s another penalty for Stoke at the Hawthorns after Simon Cox is penalised for a shove, this time it’s substitute Jonathan Walters to take it – and he scores!
16:36: GOAL! Wolves pull one back and must again throw everything forward in search of an equaliser in the final minutes, Kevin Doyle’s strike ends a 12-game barren Premier League scoring run but it’s still 2-1 Blackpool.
16:32: Bolton have restored their three-goal lead against Newcastle at the Reebok Stadium, Johan Elmander’s second of the game makes it 4-1.
16:32: Manchester United look to have wrapped up a win without playing very well at all today, after substitute Javier Hernandez gets the second goal against Wigan.
16:10: GOAL! It’s a penalty for Stoke against Albion at the Hawthorns after goalkeeper Scott Carson brings down Kenwyne Jones – up steps Matthew Etherington and he scores!
16:08: GOAL! What a breakthrough for Walsall as they take the lead after going behind against Carlisle, Matt Richards’ second goal of the game for the Saddlers.
16:07: Newcastle have pulled a quickfire goal back but it’s still 3-1 to Bolton, England striker Andy Carroll with the goal.
16:05: Newcastle are being put to the sword by Bolton at the Reebok Stadium, striker Johan Elmander’s second goal in two games makes it 3-0.
16:00: Second-half around the grounds across the country.
15:50: Half-time around the grounds across the country.
15:46: Manchester United break Wigan’s hearts by breaking the deadlock – against the run of play – in first-half stoppage time, Ji-Sung Park’s cross headed in by one of the smallest men on the pitch in left-back Patrice Evra.
15:44: GOAL! It’s all going horribly wrong for Wolves as they go 2-0 down to Blackpool before half-time, a scrappy goal eventually sees former Villa striker Marlon Harewood turn in the second.
15:39: Bolton are in command going into half-time after going two goals up against Newcastle, the impressive Chung-Yong Lee with the finish that has the home side in command at the Reebok Stadium.
15:37: GOAL! It’s a welcome relief for Walsall manager Chris Hutchings as the Saddlers get the equaliser at home to Carlisle, Matt Richards’ leveller appeases the Banks’s Stadium fans.
15:26: GOAL! The familiar groans around the Banks’s Stadium as Walsall fall behind in the first-half, Mike Grella with the goal that has Carlisle ahead.
15:18: Bolton are fast becoming the team to watch in the Premier League and they have the lead at home to Newcastle, Kevin Davies from the penalty spot at the Reebok Stadium after Kevin Nolan handled.
15:17: GOAL! It’s a beauty for Birmingham as St Andrew’s goes wild and Premier League leaders Chelsea are on the ropes, the recalled Lee Bowyer marks his return to the side with a goal.
15:03: GOAL! Wolves concede yet another early goal but there’s very little they could have done about this one at Bloomfield Road, Luke Varney’s 25-yard effort is a belter for Blackpool.
15:00: Kick-off around the grounds across the country.
14:45: The early game in the Premier League is one of the best North London derbies to date, as Tottenham turn the game on it’s head to overturn a two goal lead and beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners were cruising through strikes from Samir Nasri and Marouane Chamakh inside 27 minutes.
But goals from Gareth Bale, a Rafael van der Vaart penalty and an 85th minute winner from Younes Kaboul did it for Spurs.
14:30: Our teams in the region will be looking to bounce back today, with Wolves on the road in the Premier League facing a tricky to the unpredicatable newly-promoted outfit Blackpool.
Albion are looking to arrest their mini-slide by getting back to winning ways in front of their home fans at the Hawthorns, but Stoke are the Baggies’ bogey team and have an excellent record against their hosts.
Birmingham face the hardest task of the lot today, or do they? Chelsea come to St Andrew’s on the back of that shock 3-0 defeat against Sunderland, will Blues face a backlash from the champions or will they pile on the misery?
Walsall welcome play-off chasing Carlisle to the Banks’s Stadium desperate to pick up points that could lift them off the bottom of League One, the heat is on for manager Chris Hutchings in this League One clash.
Villa, who could have new signing Robert Pires in their ranks, go to Blackburn tomorrow in the 1:30pm Premier League kick-off.

Fletcher and Milijas on the bench, and now 2.0 down and the scorer – MARLON HAREWOOD.
Sorry Mick, do the decent thing and go. Today.

SACK MICK NOW!!!!
Blackpool were supposed to be cannon-fodder at the start of the season. What does that make us now?
Thank you Mick, backing your team to lose every week is like taking candy from a baby.
4/1 to go down is my holiday sorted.
Oh dear Wolves
Report abuse
What an absolute disgrace, yet again! Sorry to say it lads but my confidemce has just about gone. We dont deserve to stay up.
down with the wolves. They do not deserve to be in the premiership. The team should be embarrassed. How can a team be so inconsistent and remain in the premiership. Not quite sure if they are suited to championship. What a complete farce.
We are in desperate trouble this season and no one at the club, from chairman to CEO to manager to players knows what to do next.
the only way mad mick will get sacked is if we are bottom.
get rid morgan and give a new manager half a chance before its to late
Report abuse
One word – disaster!!
He simply has to go.
Looks like the new stadium plans will have to be put on hold…how many more times are we going to concede early goals…!
Why are we playing like this???
The Serb on the bench, have you lost the plot Mick???
Sorry Mate but you have gotta go.
Thanks for what you have done but it appears that you are out of ideas.
Do the honourable thing and onya bike
Report abuse

WER………………E ARE YOU NOW?
sack Mick? its the team on the pitch that are at work, need to sack them as well as the team. Don’t know why i and others bother listening to them week in week out.
Down & Out in Blackpool!
We will need a miracle to survive this season unless changes are made. Mick McCarthy’s selections and millions spent on players mostly to sit on the bench is a joke.
45 minutes to save the season
Report abuse
who goes to Blackpool and plays 5 in midfield 2 best strikers on the bench most creative player on the bench, playing against the most open and attack minded team in the division, Doyle yeah great at playing lone striker role apart from one essential ingredient “”"”"”GOALS”"”"”"”.
Taxi for MM please. becoming a embarrassment know.
McCarthy has to go while we still have a chance to turn things round. 3 early goals in 3 games! Mick has to take the blame! And I’m sorry but Elokobi has to go with him, he just ain’t a footballer! We are now the laughing stock of the premier league and it hurts like hell!
Please Mick, pack your bags and go! How much more money will you waste only to keep playing championship players? Go today please!!!
have i just heard jones on the pitch.had some good shape in the middle without him.WHY?
Just in, EB on for Hunt. So now we have SEB and Doyle who both CANNOT score. Why did he buy Fletcher??
This is a joke…a November fool?
So McCarthy drops Milijas…his ONLY world class player and then after 29 minutes admits he was wrong and puts him on
what an absolute plonker he is
He and they deserve relegation.
He should be sacked immediately, sorry gang but this is causing the players to lack belief. My three year old would be a better coach.
The side should have been
Hahnemann
Foley
Berra
Mancienne or Mouoyokolo
Van Damme
Hunt
Henry
Milijas
Jarvis
Ebanks-Blake or Fletcher
Doyle
Mike
Report abuse
relegation battle,
i was not expecting things to be so bad this year but instead of improving we have got worse.
we must beat teams like blackpool or we have no chance.
worried wolves fan
quick reply 2nd half and we might snatch a draw but can’t see it happening.
come on the wolves !!!! PLEASE!!!!
why go to blackpool and play 4-5-1 ?
says it all
Report abuse
Sorry to say it. GO NOW MICK. Please do the honourable thing and admit you’re out of your depth. Wish the club would buy my season ticket off me!
Far too much chopping and changing virtually every week.
Players out of position week in week out
And the result? … another six pointer lost.
The only time we have hacked it in the Prem late last season…it was same (or nearly same) Team and same formation for a settled period of several games
This Season has become a joke..no lessons learned ..only new excuses created
Report abuse
I’m past caring.
There’s no way I’ll be paying to watch the current set up
Report abuse
FINALLY. Fletcher on for Henry, Milijas hits the post. Desperate managing now, Mick.
AGREED 19,ELOKOBI,WARD,HENRY,NOT UP TO PREM LEVEL,SIMPLES

I dont know much about the actual mechanics of football because i never go to real games. Although, i did actually once take ALBION to the semi finals of the F.A. cup on football manager. Mick has to be sacked in the morning the money he’s spent tactics are clueless. Holloway spent way less & has better tactics .bring in o ‘neil now.before its impossible for a new manager to do anything results count mick sorry but thanks for getting us this far.
Current score puts us bottom with West Ham still to play. If they get any sort of result against Liverpool we stay there.
Sack Mick NOW or we WILL go down simple as that. Previous comments have summed it up. 2 holding midfielders??? Championship defence???? Strikers on bench who are scoring????? No milijas starting role despite being best player over last 5 games??????? wasted millions 35 million spent on 15 players since promotion and only 3 started again today????? This is unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW CAN SOMEONE PLAY JONES WHEN HE AS NOT PLAYED FOR A FEW GAMES AND REPLACE HIM FOR MILIJIAS(AFTER PLAYING WELL AGAINST TOP TEAMS)AND SCORE?
HOW CAN SOMEONE KEEP PLAYING DOYLE WHEN HE HAS NOT SCORED ALL SEASON?
FLETCHER HAS PLAYED 5 GAMES SCORED 4!!

IT IS NO FLUKE THAT HE AS ONLY WON 14 GAMES IN THE 90 GAMES IT AS BEEN IN CHARGE IN THE PREM..
WAS HE NOT THE “IT” WHO GOT SUNDERLAND PROMOTED AND THE RELEGATED WITH THE LOWEST POINTS TALLY AT THE TIME?
HE IS THE ONLY MANAGER THAT BUYS PLAYERS FOR CERTAIN POSITIONS THAN PLAYS THEM IN LESS FAMILIAR ROLES!!!!GO ON “IT” TAKE THE HAPPY CLAPPERS WITH YOU
Report abuse

have to agree with the majority and say please please go now micky mouse
Report abuse
Football is a results business and we are not getting results
In fact we have gone backwards in the last year
The new signings are either not good enough (and the manager made a mistake buying them in the first place), or he’s to stubborn to change from his favourites.
Dropping Milijas for a defensive centre midfield pairing of Henry and Mancienne against the mighty Blackpool beggars belief.
I dearly hope he doesn’t come out and give us his man of the world, proud of the effort speech. He needs to show that he’s tearing the paint off the walls with the players.

SOS Manager Required.
There was a match two seasons ago in the Championship when we were playing Burnley.
I posted on here saying I knew which manager I would prefer!
Owen Coyle…..gracious, honest, tactically aware and man manager.
Mick….Hmmmm!
OK thats enough.
This CAN be rescued with these players but new leadership is needed now.
Nothing else to say.
lost again mcarthy out but not all is lost, WBA 0 STOKE 3 , TIME FOR A DISCO. UTW
Report abuse
Mick has to go now i can not defend him anymore. I hope Morgan was listening to the fans who went to the game today. Either mick goes or next season we’ll be in the Championship and we would lose players such as Jarvis.
please, please, please Mick do the right thing , thanks for all you have done but nows the time to admit you have taken us as far as you can before its too late, and we can try to tempt o’neil to get us out of this mess.
mostly good players but tactically clueless which you must take the blame for. time to go.
I’m so angry right now, all week to prepare for a game only to realise after 25 minutes you’ve got it tactically wrong (again)…bad enough leaving Milijas out from the start but then replacing him with in-form Foley and moving Mancienne to RB? None of it makes sense, and yes favourable pundits will say we played well again with nothing to show for it but Blackpool’s 2nd choice keeper only had one real save of note to make. Pathetic. The massive worry is I doubt we can play any better than we have been and yet we still keep getting beat. Game over..
RAY WILKINS please come in for an interview 9am Monday morning.
Yours Sincerely
Steve M.

We’ve apparently developed the same losing mentality that afflicted Sunderland under McCarthy in the Prem; he was powerless to turn things around then, and I suspect the same will prove true now, assuming he continues in charge.
Eight points will surely prove too large a deficit to turn around for this limited set-up. At the current rate, we’ll effectively be down by the turn of the New Year.
I’m pro-Mick but with this crap today, he must be shown the door…
Report abuse
Why all the negativity? Mick is doing just fine, let’s give him time.
Blackpool are a decent outfit this season.
