Wayne Hennessey gets Wales start
Friday 3rd September 2010, 9:32AM BST.
Wolves’ Wayne Hennessey has won Wales’ battle of the Black Country goalkeepers ahead of Albion’s Boaz Myhill.
Coach John Toshack today confirmed Hennessey will win his 27th cap as the Welsh kick off their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign against Montenegro in Podgorica tonight, with Myhill on the bench.
Wolves midfielder David Edwards is another starter.
But Wolves striker Steven Fletcher is not part of the Scotland squad who kick off their Euro 2012 qualifiers against Lithuania in Kaunas tonight.
The forward has been left out as a precaution after only making his comeback from a foot injury as a late substitute in Wolves’ 1-1 draw against Newcastle six days ago.
Fletcher is one of three players with Tottenham’s Alan Hutton and Cardiff’s Kevin McNaughton who were excluded tonight, but are expected to be available for Tuesday’s second qualifier against Liechtenstein.
Wolves’ other Scotland representative, Christophe Berra, is on the bench, with 40-year-old David Weir alongside Stephen McManus.
Albion duo Graham Dorrans and James Morrison, along with Birmingham’s James McFadden, have also been left out.
Kevin Doyle is the only one of three Wolves players in the Republic of Ireland’s starting line-up for their qualifier away to Armenia tonight.

In the old days it would have been “madam” – but now it’s more likely to be “babe (or round these parts ‘bab’)”, “love”, “duck” or “chick/chuck”, writes Louise Jew.
