James Morrison welcomes Albion arrivals

Albion midfielder James Morrison today welcomed the arrivals of Marc-Antoine Fortune and Paul Scharner.

Morrison believes Scharner’s extensive experience and Fortune’s link-up play with aid the Premier League survival bid.

“The more players the better,” said Morrison.

“Paul Scharner is an experienced player and a strong player and that’s what we need because the Premier League is a strong league.

“More experience can only help us so onwards and upwards. We saw on Sunday that Marc created one or two problems and made chances for other people.

“When he was here before he scored five goals in half a season, so if he could score 10 that would be great.”
Scharner became the seventh new arrival when he signed last night.

Head coach Roberto Di Matteo said: “He is exactly the type of player we’ve been looking to bring in because he is a proven Premier League player, having performed consistently well in the top flight for the past four-and-a-half years.”
