Walsall keeper Jonny Brain confident of clean sheets
Saturday 28th August 2010, 11:29AM BST.
Jonny Brain today insisted he isn’t bothered about clean sheets – but backed Walsall’s backline to grind them out.
The Saddlers have yet to keep a shut-out in four attempts and goalkeeper Brain is eager to stamp his authority on the team.
But he remains unconcerned about the lack of clean sheets and reckons they will come.
“I don’t really set a clean- sheet target. It would have been nice to have kept one but it’s not the most important thing,” he said.
The summer signing from Macclesfield has kept David Bevan sidelined and is determined to keep it that way.
“I haven’t come here to have the shirt and give it away. If I’m not doing well the manager will change it but it’s down to me, if I play well I keep the shirt, if I don’t I’ll lose it,” he said.
