Blues go back for Charles N’Zogbia

Birmingham are set to launch another raid for Wigan’s wantaway winger Charles N’Zogbia.

The wide man is back on manager Alex McLeish’s radar as he tries to seal a deadline busting deal.

N’Zogbia has made it clear he wants to leave the DW Stadium and Blues are set to make a new offer just a week before the transfer window slams shut.

They made an £8million bid for the 24-year-old over the summer but the Latics wanted £10million, so McLeish withdrew the offer.

But with funds still available after owner Carson Yeung made a cash vow yesterday, the Blues boss is now primed to go in again.

However, Sunderland – managed by former Wigan and Blues chief Steve Bruce – are keen on the Frenchman with Fiorentina and Juventus also understood to want the impetuous star.

N’Zogbia admitted in January he would be interested in a move to Birmingham, as Wigan held out for top dollar for their prized asset.

But, after losing 4-0 to Blackpool and 6-0 to Chelsea in their opening Premier League games, the Latics are ready to cash in and rebuild.
