Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Matt Jarvis no fall guy for Wolves
Tuesday 17th August 2010, 10:00AM BST.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy believes winger Matt Jarvis will prove he is no fall guy.
The signing of Stephen Hunt from Hull for £3million and the impending return to fitness of Michael Kightly has led to speculation that Jarvis might find it difficult to remain in contention.
But the 24-year-old has switched to the right flank and continues to look a real handful, after another impressive performance in Saturday’s 2-1 win against Stoke.
McCarthy said: “Jarvis has moved onto the right hand side and looked just as much of a threat.
“There’s the thought that with Hunt coming in, Jarvis is under threat, but he’s proved that’s not the case.
“We’ve got good options now, as good as since I’ve been at the club.”
The manager is sceptical that Wolves will do any more in-coming business before the transfer deadline, which suggests reports that Hulls Caleb Folan is on their radar is more agent-driven publicity-seeking than reality.
But the prospects of players moving out – Andy Keogh, Matt Hill and Greg Halford chief among them – is still high.
