Wolves name Reading team early
Tuesday 27th July 2010, 10:35AM BST.
Ronald Zubar and Nenad Milijas will return for Wolves at Reading as manager Mick McCarthy again unleashes young guns Danny Batth and Ashley Hemmings.
Zubar has recovered from the injury to his left ankle at Bohemians 10 days ago and will come off the bench with Milijas tonight, who will play his first football since briefly starring for Serbia at the World Cup.
But it’s the inclusion of the two home-grown academy graduates in a strong team which will intrigue fans, after their impressive performances in the 4-0 win against Walsall a week ago.
Batth, who is 19, gets his chance alongside Richard Stearman as McCarthy rests regular centre-back pairing Jody Craddock and Christophe Berra after 90 minutes in Saturday’s 2-1 win against Charleroi.
Pacy Hemmings, also 19 and scorer of his first senior goal at the Banks’s Stadium, is set to start on the left wing.
McCarthy, who took the unusual step of naming his starting line-up in advance, said: “It’s a much bigger game for Ashley and Danny than Walsall was.
“We should learn something more about them. I’ve always liked the pair of them.
“But like anyone else, it’s very much in their hands.”
Elsewhere, Kevin Doyle returns to start up front against his old club with Kevin Foley and George Elokobi recalled at full-back.
Steven Mouyokolo returned to full training yesterday but tonight’s game has come too soon for him.
McCarthy said: “Ronald will be involved tonight, Steven trained fully yesterday and did well but he won’t be involved, just to make sure he’s right before he plays.”
Wolves: Ikeme, Foley, Stearman, Batth, Elokobi, Guedioura, Henry, Edwards, Hemmings, Vokes, Doyle.

In the old days it would have been “madam” – but now it’s more likely to be “babe (or round these parts ‘bab’)”, “love”, “duck” or “chick/chuck”, writes Louise Jew.
