Walsall are not signing anyone on purpose most likely. If we sign them now we have to start paying them wages now!! Think how much money a week we are saving compared to how much we would spend with a full squad.

Must be at least a tenner a week! ; )

Everyone is talking like this doesnt happen every year!!! Even when we were in the old Div1 we were the same, fair enough we got a better calibre of player in, but nothing has changed!

Our first pre-season games are only a fortnight or so away and we need any new signings we might make to be in by then. I agree we should give Gray until the end of the week and then withdraw his contract offer if he hasn’t committed to us by then. What really worries me is the goalkeeping position now that Gilmartin has walked. Losing most of a back four in little more than a week has left us seriously weakened so things now need to speed up regarding bringing new faces in. Yet again a manager is faced with the task of making a silk purse from half a sow’s ear. Good luck, Hutch, you’ll need it.

As Larry Grayson said “shut that door”, if he signs for us it will be because he cant get a deal anywhere else. I’m sorry Mr Hutchings but you’ve become Bonsers lapdog again. Already disappointed with Walsall, what a waste of season ticket money.

I personally would give Gray till Friday and then forget him if he won’t sign – he ain’t that good. He’s 30 with no pace and can’t tackle – hardly great attributes for a winger! We need to sign at least 4 players: a left back, central defender, wide-left/right player and possibly a utility player who can play at full-back and midfield. We certainly do look a little threadbare at the moment. C’mon Chris, get dealing…although you can’t get much on half a shoestring budget.

Why do we bother with this yearly pantomime of setting contract deadlines? Every bloke and his dog know it’s all hot air from the club and we’ll let the players walk all over us every year.

Looks like we’re playing our annual “signing roulette”. Let’s see how desperate players are the longer the summer goes on. Trouble is Walsall, that usually means we’re left with only the desperado’s no other clubs are interested in.
