Blues line up £6m Bobby Zamora bid
Wednesday 30th June 2010, 10:55AM BST.
Birmingham could be back in for Fulham striker Bobby Zamora as boss Alex McLeish plans a £6million bid to beef up City’s attack.
Blues are understood to be willing to offer the 29-year-old a four-year deal worth around £50,000-per week, having been known to be interested in the former West Ham and Tottenham forward for most of the summer.
But with Fulham boss Roy Hodgson now on the verge of quitting Craven Cottage to take over at Premier League rivals Liverpool, City will fancy their chances more than ever of snaring Zamora.
McLeish also remains keen on his Cottagers team-mate Paul Konchesky, but has yet to return with an improved offer after having a £1.5million bid for the left-back knocked back earlier this month.
But, again, Hodgson’s imminent departure could change things.
