Sneekes’ warning for Graham Dorrans
Thursday 24th June 2010, 11:29AM BST.
Former Albion midfield maestro Richard Sneekes has warned current star Graham Dorrans not to quit the Hawthorns for Premier League big-boys.
Sneekes believes an extended stay with the Baggies is the best way for the Scotland international to develop his game in the top flight.
Albion have already rejected a £4million bid from West Ham for the 23-year-old, who was the player-of-the-season in their latest Championship promotion.
Other Premier League sides including Arsenal and Manchester City have also watched him several times, but Sneekes reckons regular football with the Baggies would be better for the ex-Livingston man.
Sneekes said: “He could go to Manchester City or Arsenal, they’ll pay him the money and he’ll be sorted for the rest of his life.
“But he won’t play. So what do you want out of your career?
“Surely it’s playing at the highest level.”
The Dutchman, who played more than 250 times for the Baggies from 1995-2001, also believes remaining at the Hawthorns would be good for Dorrans’ development.
Sneekes said: “He has only had one full season and that is in the Championship, so he still has everything to do and everything still to prove.
“What better than to go upwards with Albion, showing everyone what he can do?
“Then, in a year or two’s time, he could perhaps move on to better things when he will be ready to play at that sort of stage.”

Sneekes you got in one, I would hate to see Graham sitting on the bench all the time getting more and more frustrated.

Loved it last night when the commentator referred to the Slovenia players as equivelent 3rd tier footballers in England. Sounds about right for Koren and Cesar playing for a small time club.

Great advice Sneekes, hope you are listening to this Mr dorrans!! Don’t just go for the money, you will not get in the 1st team at any top 5 club just yet! Give us a year more, maybe two and then see who comes in for you!

No. 2 – of course the commentator was wrong and was being pretty disrespectful with it. Those “3rd tier” players beat Russia away this season, plus managed to score against both Algeria and the USA – something our supposed “superstars” couldn’t.
And those “3rd tier” players had our hearts in our mouths a fair few times yesterday. Makes you wonder about our defence doesn’t it?

Number 2 (very apt)
Maybe you could elaborate on your top ten club monicker.
Are you a seal ?
If so, no one on hear will take your arrogance seriously.
Are you a dingle ?
If so, your delusions of adequacy are as hillarious as your recent signings.
Dont think you are a bluenose.

If Slovenian first-teamers are 3rd division footballers, what does that make Guerdiora, merely a substitute for Algeria, the team Slovenia beat?

Dorrans looks a decent player but let’s be honest – Fletcher aside – no Scottish players would get into a top 5 team in the Premiership!

just remind me who they are playing in the last 16 ????

What do you mean. “better things” Are not the Baggies better things?

Really liked Koren when he was at the Albion however last night showed that he may have been out of his depth playing againnst premiership players week in week out, so maybe RDM and the management team were right to let him go. I thought Cesar was one of their better players good luck to both of them in the future as far as I’m concerned, they were top of the group prior to the game so the commentator was a fool to make such a comment, just like the fools on here who can’t see beyond their own rosey (team) coloured specs and then end up look real idiotic when their teams make a blunder, as all teams do.

No.2. The ‘commentator’, who has he played for? Even some of the so-called pundits talk some tripe at times. When we played USA and Albania, Andy Townsend had me believing he was watching a different game. They’re being paid to say something, anything in fact except embarrassed silence, so tripe is frequently on the menu. Our Adrian usually talks sense and gets sense in replies because he doesn’t hide and Gary Lineker doesn’t let them get away with much. If you Wulfies want a good player who can start in August, Koren would be a good shout.

12) Cyril Randle. Don’t mind former Albion players playing for the Wolves (or managing them !). We’ve taken a few real stars in the past…haven’t we ?
However I don’t think Koren fits the bill. We are trying to move up and away from that mini league at the bottom of the Premiership and he wouldn’t improve us, which is why we are signing the players we are. Some of your fellow Albion posters (and one or two Wolves’ twerps too) seem to think that because they have been signed from teams that were relegated that they are bad footballers. Anybody who follows this game of ours knows that bumkum of course.
Also I like Adrian Chiles style. Maybe it could be improved if he had Robert Plant alongside him instead of Andy Townsend.
PS No spelling mistakes this time ? I had to do detention last night.

The simple fact is we do not currently have enough quality in our squad to survive. JP needs to invest in Premier league experienced players. Not free transfer tripe from another Country, Premier league players. I’ve put my money where my mouth is and got my season ticket but now JP has to do the same and bring in some experience. You do not need to break the bank but look at some of the players below:
David Nugent
James Beattie
Boaz Myhill
Jimmy Bullard
D Kamara
Jason Koumas
Ben Watson
Robbie Blake
Hayden Mullins
David James
Liam Lawrence
JP cannot say that players are out of reach for us, he is just not willing to give the club a chance to establish ourselves.

Any news on the sponsor or new shirt? The club shop said that it was all still up in the air. Why do we always leve things until the last minute?
I have worryingly seen Brian Jensen in a mercedes by the Hawthorns today

Bought, one relegated gammy foot. Couldn’t have done a very good job like the other relegated buy.
Yes, you bought Ally Robertson after he slowed down a bit, he was still to good for you lot and
you’re still missing Robbie Dennison as you have no wing material. Haven’t time to mention any more.

Bertie, I have always said if you want a real goalscorer, find one who is popping them in regularly for a team at the bottom of their League. Don’t apply that rule to Stevie Bull though as we were miles higher than you in those days! I was probably one of the few Albion supporter who DIDN’T want you to disappear into a Balti Bros. Supermarket.
Our Sir Terence deliberately spells badly so that I put him in detention. He’s seen the teachers I employ to take the class.

Sneeks how can he move on to better things it dont come any better than playing for the BAGGIZ, home games sold out every week, best away support in the country, a manager who will lead us to a top for finish, going in the champions league the RDM way in STYLE OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS aye boing boing

20. Terry, we have have much of the same squad that finished bottom two years ago so I hope your post is not accurate.
JP needs to show that he is ready to try and keep this club in the Premier league. What concerns me is that he is content on on yo-yoing and is not interested in establishing us as a top flight club. We need 4-5 quality signings and we have a chance and then if we do stay up the same again next season. The cheap option does not work, look at our record over the last 10 years.

15) You are spot on. Blackpool will not spend as they will have little and have to rely on small attendances. Albion and Newcastle will have to spend £10 million minimum or they will struggle. Wolves spent around £17 million and were always hovering around the danger area and the only big name signing was Doyle. A few did not work like The Hoff, Halford and Surman but Zubar did and Milijas will get better!

Don’t worry about Dorrens, he’ll have his career plan all mapped out for himself. But incase his head gets turned but the cash, give him a picture of Scott Parker to put in his locker to show him what can happen if you get ahead of yourself and your career plan.

The previous season we spent £23m and finished bottom. Last season Birmingham spent around £10m and finished in the top-half.
It’s not what you spend it’s how you spend it.

17) JtP and 20) Sir terry Thrush. This was a conversation between Cyril Randle and myself, but, don’t worry i can trade childish nonsense with the best if that’s what you want.
Right, back to you Cyril. I never mentioned Steve Bull, how remiss of me to forget him ! No, I was remembering Ronnie Allen, who picked up the relegated remnants of old Stan Cullis regime and got us back into the old First Division. As for the baltis (note,no capital letter for the unimportant) they are best forgotten. I’m sure you’ll read the Steve Morgan ‘vision’ article on our site. I was at that Liverpool relegation/title match and at the Wolves v Leeds game when we stopped that awful Revie side getting the double.
In both cases the South Bank turnstiles were ramraided. Wonder what the baltis would have made of that ?

Bertie, It was around 1967 when Ronnie Allen had brought life back to Wolves, the crowds were returning and we were to play you one wet Wednesday evening. I’m trying to remember the score without looking up my books, but 2-2 I think? The idea of beating a team that Ronnie was managing put me in a dilemma and him too probably as he was as Albion as Stevie B. is Wulfie. I was late home from work, the windscreen wiper on the mini had packed up, the crowds and roads were jam-packed. A quick dismantling of the wiper mechanism, repair done, how to miss the traffic? Well, I’d worked at Thermair in Pelham Street for over 3 years, so I used my knowledge of the complex back streets of those days and we were there to join the huge queue to get in and we made it. Good game too.

Gerty,
Sorry I didn’t realise you were the head moderator
because you obviously think you alone should dictate when and what fans should post about. On this site we use what is known as HUMOUR and banter you see. We being ALBION fans mix in with each other something you are not conversant with on the dark side.So if you are stung you denigrate
those who sting you with truth by calling them
childish and using foul language which is common
amongst dog-heads. When you clean your fangs next time try using an antibacterial mouthwash it will
possibly clean up that sewer you call a mouth.
Have a nice day, IMBECILE.
