Chris McPhee set for Harriers change

Kidderminster Harriers captain Chris McPhee is unfazed by another summer of change at Aggborough as the latest new-look side takes shape for next season.
The skipper will return with the rest of the squad in two weeks time for pre-season training, with at least five faces to get to know after boss Steve Burr’s current influx of close-season transfers.
That is nothing new to McPhee, who signed a two-year contract last year to make his temporary move permanent, in the same summer where 11 players were let go under former manager Mark Yates.
Such high turnovers of players are the reality of life in non-league football, according to the captain, who has had an eventful month of his own after becoming a father to daughter Amilee Jane four days ago.
And the 27-year-old is unfazed by the hub of transfer activity at Aggborough, preferring to back the big decisions of boss Burr and give his all to the cause.
McPhee said: “That is how football is, people move on at the end of the season and new faces come in. It’s just part and parcel of the game, we are in a league where clubs can only afford to give out one-year deals, so a lot of the time it’s a gamble on released players and reputations.
“It’s difficult to make long-term decisions on players, because you have got tight budgets and it’s one of those where you almost have to rebuild each year. We’ve lost a few from here, there and everywhere, so there’s still work to do.
“We will turn up for pre-season like any other club, looking to get the ball rolling for a good start to the season.”
