Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Sevilla will be back for Borja Valero
Monday 14th June 2010, 12:00PM BST.
Sevilla are preparing a second bid for Albion midfielder Borja Valero – but the Spaniards are drawing up a list of alternative targets.
Sources in Spain claim the La Liga club’s initial bid for Albion’s record signing on Thursday was worth 4m euros, around £3.3million.
But that figure is well short of the Baggies’ valuation and Sevilla will need to increase their offer considerably to prise Valero out of the Hawthorns.
Albion have remained tight-lipped about their valuation of Valero, but the Spanish media claimed today that Sevilla had been quoted a price of £6.5million for the former Real Madrid trainee.
Valero is keen to make the move to Sevilla and is believed to have agreed personal terms already with the club, who finished fourth in the top-flight last season to claim a Champions League qualifying round place.
Real Mallorca had an option to sign Valero for 4m euros after his successful loan spell with the club last season. But Albion now want considerably more for the player they signed for £4.7million two summers ago.
Sevilla have not given up on Valero and are likely to increase their bid, but Spanish sources claim the club are now considering alternative midfield targets.

I’m sure JP will get a good price but it’s quite clear he isn’t wanted here and doesn’t fancy coming back so we could do worse than to accept 4m and just get the money in to get players in who RDM and DA want in the squad for next year. No problems with Valero but hopeful we can resolve this quickly for everyone’s benefit.

1 AMS.
Are you talking 4 mill euro’s or pounds? There’s a fair difference. We had to pay the asking price for him so if Sevilla want him then why shouldn’t they do the same. We aren’t Man City, we need to watch the pennies as well as the pounds.

Sell him for 4m euros and use the money to get in keogh, very underrated player and better than what we’ve got.

When Albion signed Valero, the Spaniards valued him at almost 5 mil.(pounds),since then he has played a season in the English Premiership, and an impressive season back in La Liga with rave reviews.Sevilla must know he has at least kept his value, but they obviously want him at a bargain price, even though they will make millions in the Champion’s League and can afford the asking fee.I suggest they put up or shut up,I can’t see JP backing down.

Why don’t Mallorca buy him for the 4 million euros and sell him to Sevilla for just a bit more?

3 Baghead-As you are obviously another dingle, you are absolutely right-Keogh IS better than every other player you’ve got down the custard bowl. But that’s not hard is it,not much to compare to.

I’ve been watching the first half of Italy v Paraguay. It’s been ruined by a continuous terrible toneless droning noise that just seems to go on and on with little point. Not the vuvuzalers but Mad Mick’s summarising.

mboy – I think Mallorca are in danger of going into administration, so they have no cash.

We are in danger of him going awol which happens on a regular basis if players especially overseas players don’t get what they want.
JP should just accept a small loss and sell him for £4M as I can’t see his unrealistic valuation of £6.5m coming to fruit.
I would’nt want him back anyway after heartless displays for us and is clearly pining to go back to the beach.

If we are prepared to sell him to Mallorca for 4 million euros, will Jeremy sell him to Sevilla for the same? He obviously wants to leave, so let him go, collect the money and put it towards a decent striker.
