Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Our road to the World Cup final
Tuesday 8th June 2010, 8:00AM BST.
Albion fans Jonathan Eden, Nick Clarke and Ashley Starbuck have a day to remember in Soccer City planned at the World Cup final.
As World Cup fever grips the nation three of us Baggies fans in Jonathan Eden, Nick Clarke and Ashley Starbuck can relax knowing that we will be at the Final even if England are not!
Last year – or thereabouts – the three of us hit the big 50, so to celebrate we decided to book the trip of a lifetime to South Africa to watch the World Cup.
Having researched the various options and recovered from the shock of the prices, we settled on going to the final itself on July 11. This is being held at Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg, which has a capacity of 94,700.
Our journey will start on the evening of July 8, when we fly to Cape Town on Emirates Airlines from Birmingham via Dubai. We arriving 24 hours later on a Friday, in time for a few beers and hopefully a good night’s sleep in a bed.
Saturday we are planning a few more jars and finding somewhere to watch the third versus fourth place play-off. Sunday is the final itself and we will be heading back to the airport to fly up to Johannesburg, as it’s over 1,000 mile away.
If England make it, it will be like finding the Golden Ticket. If they don’t, as fans of the game, it will be something to remember for the rest of our lives and to bore countless fellow Baggies fans about.
The three of us travel home and away with the Albion, up to now the furthest I have gone is to travel back over night from New York to watch the Albion play at Norwich on a Saturday, but this takes the biscuit as the furthest we have gone to watch a game of football.
We are then staying on for the rest of the week and have trips planned to see Table Mountain, Robben Island and take in a Cape Town tour.
So all in all a trip to remember, an event to remember and if you spot three Albion shirts in the crowd at the World Cup Final – at least you will know why!
Come on England! Keep The Faith – you know it makes sense.
