Alex Nicholls desperate to secure Walsall future
Saturday 5th June 2010, 10:56AM BST.
Alex Nicholls today revealed he was desperate to secure his Walsall future for the sake of his daughter after penning a new two-year deal.
The striker signed on at the Banks’s Stadium until 2012 yesterday and became the first of the eight out of contract stars to commit his future.
Stourbridge-born Nicholls became a father last season and says he needed to ensure he could look after his family.
“To get the security of a two-year deal is really pleasing. I’ve got a young family, my daughter Grace is just 10-months-old, so it was important to get things in order,” said the 22-year-old.
“To have my future sorted out is a big relief.
It’s great to have everything in place.”

Although its good he has signed, nowhere does he mention walsall FC, all he basically says is he’s glad to get the money, i hope he has signed for the right reasons and not just to pick up his wages!
