Qatar link leads to Dindane doubt
Wednesday 19th May 2010, 1:00PM BST.
Wolves’ pursuit of £2.5million Aruna Dindane appear shrouded in mystery after it was claimed the Lens striker is joining a club in Qatar.
His agent Willie McKay told the Express & Star today the 29-year-old was joining an un-named Arab Emirates club.
He claimed: “Aruna is going to Qatar.”
Dindane was supposedly due to have talks and a medical at the Reebok Stadium, after Bolton agreed a fee on Monday.
But that deal did not go through and it is not even certain whether the player underwent the medical.
Wolves have remained unperturbed by supposed developments in Lancashire, remaining steadfast in their belief that having declared their interest, they will be informed either way when a decision has been made.
Bolton’s interest may have cooled as they have gained permission to extend Ivan Klasnic’s stay for another season, with his reported £60,000 a week wages likely to mean there is not enough in the budget for Dindane, Klasnic, Kevin Davies and Johan Elmander.
Boss Owen Coyle is prepared to offload Elmander to recoup some of the record £11million the club paid to Toulouse two years ago, but there do not appear to be any takers at present.
All of which appears to leave Wolves in the driving seat, should the proposed move to Qatar fall through. But as the club prepare to sign players, they remain ready to let others go.
A report today claimed the loan of goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey could be part of a deal with Burnley to take £7million-rated striker Steven Fletcher to Molineux.
But although it is understood Hennessey has held talks with boss Mick McCarthy on his future, Wolves have denied any interest in Fletcher.
Hennessey is known to be unhappy with playing second fiddle to Marcus Hahnemann, but is unlikely to want to drop into the Championship.
Reports of Southampton’s interest in midfielder Andrew Surman are also untrue, although Wolves are understood to be willing to accept less than the £1.2million they paid Saints a year ago.

Do not sign this player. There is only one reason he would go to Qatar and thats for the £money£ He wastalking about playing in the champions league last week and now he’s happy to settle for Qatar. You also know that Willie McKay has probably told him to go for the money so he can have a bigger cut himself!!

IT WOULD BE NICE IF WE SIGN PLAYERS THAT ACTUALLY WANT TO COME TO WOLVES, INSTEAD HAVING TO DANGLE THE CARROT TO PERSUDE THEM FROM JOINING OTHER CLUBS.

If I was Wayne Hennessey, I might want to revise my ambitions. Take a championship club and prove everyone that you are indeed brave enough to command your goal line. If he is seriously unhappy, after watching Hahnemann’s heroics week after week, then he’s as stupid as he sounds.
