Wolves sign three-year £3m kit deal
Friday 30th April 2010, 10:30AM BST.
Wolves have announced the biggest kit deal in their history after signing up with Swiss clothing brand BURRDA for the next three years.
The deal is believed to be worth up to £3million and the kit will be worn for the first time at the final game of the season against Sunderland a week on Sunday.
BURRDA, who replace Le Coq Sportif, Wolves’ kit suppliers for the last six years, have produced a traditional style of kit in conjunction with the club.
The club have struck a first for BURRDA’s in UK football but the firm supplies the Kuwait and Qatar national teams as well as an impressive portfolio of international sports clubs, including the British handball teams.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said: “BURRDA have a strong international track record across a number of different sports, with plans to further extend their brand into the UK.
“We’ve listened to fans’ ideas on designs throughout the year and, together with BURRDA, we’ve come up with simple, retro style designs, using state-of-the-art technical material. The type and size of this deal reflects the global reach of the Premier League.
“BURRDA are a very good fit for our football club, who can also hopefully extend our contacts across Europe and the Middle East.
BURRDA’s general manager, Charles Diab said: “We’ve always planned to enter the UK football market and when the chance came with a club steeped in history as Wolves is, we knew the fit was right.”
In two supporter-friendly moves, shirt prices have been frozen for the 10th year running and the chosen design has been based on feedback from fans during the season.
Supporters will be able to pre-order the home kit after the Sunderland game from the Molineux and Dudley Street stores and online at www.wolves.co.uk after 6pm on the same day. It will go on sale on Friday June 18.
Shirt prices are £40 adults, £30 for juniors with ladies and infant at £35 and £30 respectively. A new away kit will be revealed at Tuesday’s awards dinner at the Telford International Centre.
The kits feature ‘cool dry’ technology that allows the absorption of body moisture into the fabrics, while allowing air to circulate providing comfort and durability.

I wanted umbro like we had in the 70′s & 80′s i dont think i will be buying any shirts soon, sorry i sound negative.
Oh my God, back to the days of Bukta, Nutmeg and spall.
well done jez, another dodgy old kit for wolves.
cant we just get a nike kit like the other clubs,
Report abuse
What the hell?????? Never heard of em but im sure they will be making a effort with our kit and other merchandise. Could be a good deal as long as the kit is nice i dont care.
I cant believe the make of kits we get, its not just the shirt, but all the other merchandise will be just as bad, yes it 3m but cant we have a nike kit plain gold with black v neck done and also put sporting bet in black..
sorry to sound negative, but we’ve only had the current shirt for 1 season in the Premiership, and it’s being scrapped. Seems just another way to rip the fans off !!!
Disgusted !!
When are we going to get a decent kit supplier. Burrda is just going to look cheap, the badge is awful.
Nike
Addidas
Puma
even Umbro perhaps
Report abuse
We keep going back to these shoddy unknown sponsors and they end up being rubbish like admiral a few years back. Le Coq were good apart from the annoying rubber square that stuck to your back when you get a bit sweaty in the pub.
I wish they made shirts designed for where most people wear them. Not on a football field but in crowed pubs and terraces before a match. The last few years they have been sweat magnets.
I thought we were a premier league team? I love the way Moxey has made out they’ve listened to the fans feedback when its obvious the majority don’t want cheap tat like this. Well i certainly won’t be buying any of the clubs merchandise for the next 3 years.
Cheap and Nasty. Looks like Moxey is trying to recoup the Pie and Pint Expenditure. No doubt we’ll have the the usual propaganda “Its the most successful kit launch ever” Blah Blah. Can it be worse quality that this years kit ?
I’m disgusted by this move. It’s just a case of selling the production of the shirt to the highest bidder.
So we’re going to grace the premier league in a kit manufactured by a name no-one has heard of. We’ll be laughing stock.
This could have been a bold statement of intent i.e nike, adidas, umbro etc. But obviously money talks. Obviously the board think that fans will buy it whatever, they may have a little shock.
Can you see the players wanting to wear this cheap rubbish? Whats more is this going to look good when attracting new signings?
This echos back to the days when we had bukta and scoreline producing the kits. Even Walsall have a better supplier. Cheap Sunday league kit fodder.
Oh and the shirt price has been frozen, how about cutting the price.
I’m sorry some people will think this is all superficial but image is important at this level. Can you see Robbie Keane wanting to wear this?
I was actually quite excited about finding out who it was going to be, not now….
Another masterstroke from the board!? I’m not convinced!
I really struggle to see how these deals with Sunday league style kits actually promotes the club to the young and upcoming fans in the town. Kids want to be seen in Nike, Adidas, Puma and such like and yet we give them Burrda!
I know that the big names aren’t going to pay us £3m to wear their kits and from that perspective it does make sense but surely the club shop would not be able to fill the shelves quick enough if we actually went for a top brand! Over a three year period would the increased sales not negate the initial £3m deal?
Stoke are going with Adidas and they are no mugs, surely they see the commercial benefit of attracting a big name. For me it says a lot about the club and the ambition within. The game is all about image and branding these days and we still don’t seem to have caught on!
Just my opinion but I won’t be purchasing this one!
ITS A GOOD DEAL…
WELL DONE JEZ…
Report abuse
Umbro would of been nice this time with style and fit like the new England away kit but with our colours and sportingbet in black.
I’m always left a little frustrated by our kit designs and i dont see that changing any time soon now.
Aslong as they dont bring back those splats of poo on the shirt like we had early nineties i wont be too bothered.
So what. It is a football shirt and like other football shirts, providing it is good quality, hard wearing and true to our traditional colours then it is alright by me.
You fans are the same who were a few months ago who were chanting Mick out.

‘Wolves have announced the biggest kit deal in their history ‘
Its 3 million coming into the club.

At least it gives some muppets something to moan about. Can’t moan about going down, can’t moan about MM, can’t moan about the player’s we have signed (yet).
How do you know it’s going to look “cheap” or it’s going to be “tat”!!!!!
If you don’t like it when it comes on sale don’t buy it, just stick on a Tesco carrier bag on and go to Sandwell!!!
ive had a look at their kits what they do and they are’nt that bad
Report abuse
Sorry to sound grumpy but in all truth I am. We’ve had the current kit for ONE season and we’re changing it again???
And what about last seasons kit…proving apparently to be one of the most popular with fans ever was scrapped after…one season. Just getting a little bit sick of spending 80 quid on a pair of shirts that will never leave my wardrobe again in 12 months time!
I love these forums, moan moan moan. So what if the kit is an unknown brand, they might be a good kit, so stop being depressing on the back drop of our best year in a good 25 years!
what you all moaning at?? Think of the money, that’s the only important thing, so we can invest in our team.
I’ll defo buy it.
I don’t know why everone’s dismissing the shirt before they’ve seen it. If when we’ve had a look and you don’t like then slag it off but to write it off already is a bit harsh. Can’t be any worse than Evertons kit or Newcastle away strip. Anyway they must be good. They make the Kuwait kit :)
Another dismal kit.
If Walsall can afford Nike, why can’t we????
Absolutely digusted. Terrible decision.
Obviously the the board have taken no notice of fans wishes and sold production of the kit to the highest bidder.
Can you imagine young kids wanting to wear a kit made by this lot? Obviously the board have thought get the kits made for peanuts and sell for £40 still the fools will buy it. I don’t think so.
This could have been a bold statement of intent, nike adidas or umbro, puma or le coq again. Instead we’ll be wearing a Sunday leage kit.
Can you imagine the players wanting to wear this? Even worse can you imagine new signings wanting to wear it? Can you imagine Robbie Keane wanting to wear it? NO!
Some people will think who makes it is not important. I’m sorry Image is important at this level. Even Walsall have a better kit manufacturer. This echos back to the days of bukta, scoreline, nutmeg et al…
I hear Stoke’s new kit is Adidas says it all…
I’m sure it will look great when we play at Old Trafford..
4 – have you even seen the kit yet? Just because you havent heard of the kit supplier doesnt mean it will look terrible.
5- every club change their home shirt every 2 years, away shirt every year, so were due a change.
7 – admiral wasnt an unknown kit supplier (not sponser), admiral was around for years, before they made our strip. It seems that this company have allot of experience in making sporting clothing so they may come good?
8 – Its a kit supplier, not a player. If your that superficial that you wont wear your own teams colours because you havent heard the kit supplier, maybe you shouldnt be supporting Wolves.
I dont buy shirts myself, but this is just the type of deal the club has got to do to bring in extra revenue. As long as it is given to Mick to spend on the team then I am not complaining.
Whats wrong with the kit we have at the moment??? me and my 2 lads are over the moon that the wolves are staying up as we all have a season ticket.. Of course they want a footy shirt like the players but its costly!!! I dont want to sound negative as us staying up is the best news ever!! Its just becoming so expensive but I cant let my boys down. Come on Moxey why do we need to do this??? cant we spend money elsewhere!!!
I can’t believe some of the moaning idiots on this thread. They live in a deluded world where Wolves should be in the top 4, be signing players for 12 million and paying 65 grand a week to squad players. Maybe Nike will come knocking on the door when we’ve spent a few more seasons in the top league. I think there should be some IQ test to be able to post threads on this site.
Personally im gald its not nike as the big suppliers do the same kit for all the teams, i want something different.
As for the kit, google wolves kit, and click on the 7th link down that says EXCLUSIVE, and thats a mock up of the new kit. I think its quite nice.
Sometimes I despair – Some people are even moaning about who supplies the kit!
£3 million. i repeat £3 million.
Well done Jez!
To the moaners – Get a life!
Well said Ianwolf.. Black logo & v neck shirt please.. I would prefer the motif for the city on the shirt as well.. Lets just hope we don’t get a tyre print shirt again lol.. A cheap supplier has never boded too well in the past, lets hope this is better.. In retro I hope they dont mean big collars and baggy shorts.. Lets be a little modern..
Does it matter who does the kit? the main thing is that we get the right players in to help us stay up again next season and push up the league!!! SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? plus we 3m over 3 years!!!
A good deal moneywise but I cannot see the fans taking too much to an unknown brand. Man Utd are going for a retro look from a big brand name and I would have liked us to do the same.
Anyway here is £3 million towards the £20 million we need to be spending to get us into mid-table next season!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
We gat a great deal for a club our size of £3m
and some people complain
What does it matter as long as we get good sponsorship
Lets go with Umbro for nothing should we!!! I am sure the moaners would be happy then
Why are our supporters so negative
The club is a small club (at the moment)
but we are balance sheet strong due to good management decisions.
Well done the board keep it up
Report abuse
Take this what ever way you want boys and girls but who really cares who makes a football strip… Our contract is with Umbro and Umbro insist that the strip is changed every year even more more money for parents to fork out……
at the end of the day whether they are addidas umbro fila nike or whoever they are all made very cheaply in the far east!!!!!
Actually their kits on their site look very nice, it has to be better than the one from this season which is not good! Another master-stroke from Moxey, record sponsorship deal and record kit deal within a year, the club is going forward and 3 mil will help pay for quality players wages.
Lets see if Albion can find a sponsor this season!!!
Its about time everybody lays of Jez.
He’s done a great job, not like them down the road where some of their fans are pretending to be Wolves on here by moaning…lol
Stick together boys and other 3 mill in the bag..
Keep it up Jez….
Just remmber who we are and where we are….

Jez we are trying to become a Premiership established outfit and you come through with a £3m deal for us to look like a bunch of backstreet kids!
Well done rodney!
Living up to the Dingles name with this one
Report abuse
3m is good money, it’s pretty safe to assume as well that this was the best deal on offer as well.
People who moan about not having Nike/Reebok etc sound like (or are) teenagers. Really, who gives a rats bum about who makes the kit, just another stick to beat the club with!

Does anyone remember the abuse we had from Albion when we decided to put Doritos on our shirts?? De ja vou anyone???
We get £3 mill.
So I for one am prepared to walk around looking like a complete rag bag in a Murda Burda top.
Well done Jez. You are a fashion icon.
Good Grief!! Sometimes my fellow Wolves fans leave me utterly embarrased by their ability to produce negativity from a positive story. It isn’t the club thats a laughing stock my friends its YOU!. What on earth are you going on about number 24? Do you really believe what you wrote or is it a wind up? £3million is a damn good deal for us and Jez is being criticised for it? Unbelievable. Nobody holds a gun to our heads and forces us to buy a shirt so if we din’t like it don’t buy it, but nobody’s even seen it yet!
First thing is I don’t like Jez but I have to say well done. He has increased our revenue again.
Who cares if it isn’t Nike etc. Would you want Nike if they paid us 500k a year?? Its a football top and not a fashion item, who cares who supplies it, as long as they pay us well. Also think of potential new sponsorships from abroad in Switzerland and middle east and shirt sales. It all increases revenue to take our club forward.
As for people moaning about another new shirt, well if you feel strongly don’t buy it. Its like people moaning about season ticket price don’t moan just show its not acceptable.
If Wolves sold 20,000 new shirts last season, how many of the same shirt would they sell this season? 5,000 maybe. If they have a new shirt they will sell around 15,000. That is 10,000 shirts more than selling last season shirt. This means an increase in turnover which we wouldn’t have sticking to the same shirt.
Cannot believe the attitude of some, so called fans. Got to be Nike,Adidas,Umbro. Stupid obsession with brand names. As long as the kit is of good quality & design. Does it matter who made it for god’s sake. In Australia, no one cares who’s clothing your wearing, as long as it’s your own. Get over it.
Surely the only brand that matters is brand Wolves?
That’s why you spend £40 on a cheap nylon T shirt, not because of who makes it..
If it’s a good traditional “Wolves” design, I may be tempted (I don’t always by the new shirt), but It will have to be stunning – not because of who makes it, but because of who our sponsors are (and how much it costs).
I’d rather buy a shirt with NO sponsor’s logo on it like Forest sell to their fans (or at least give us the option).
24 – did you finally manage to smuggle a laptop into the asylum?
There I was thinking that Premier League football was the most important thing to the club but you seem to think it’s who makes our shirts.
Why exactly would the players not want to wear it? I’d imagine most would play in a shellsuit if they could play in the Premier League.
What else will you complain about? The make of the pies? The fuel used in the lawnmowers to cut the grass?
Go and sit down and keep your naughty fingers away from the keyboard.
You’re making a complete fool of yourself.

That should have been BUY the Wolves shirt..

Sounds like a good deal Jez !
Will the shirt remain unchanged for the 3 years – I hope so !
I just hope we remember we are playing Football and not HANDball !

Surely Wolverhampton Wanderers is the brand that matters when kid’s are choosing a shirt. If its a Nike t shirt they really want then let them do that instead.
The old gold and black is what matters!

“In two supporter-friendly moves, shirt prices have been frozen for the 10th year running” based
Good old Jez, more back spin.
Its easy to freeze the prices, when they’re already at the top end. How many other replica shirts cost more than £40 ?
Jez knows that there are plenty of mugs who’ll buy one, even if it has blue and white stripes.
Last decent kit we had was made by Puma, since then its been cheap tat.
Some people seem to be missing the point. the best being ‘why carn’t we get a nike kit like the other clubs’ lmao! – you dont go to JJB and pick a strip. Its who is prepared to pay the most and get the club the most, it could of been job bloggs kits direct if they had paid 3.5 million.

How moaning bunch. I can’t believe in a space of 2.5 hours this story has generated 50 responses – many of which are just same old Wolves – moaners.
At Walsall, the fans have no say in the design of the kit, colours, badge, stadium name, sponsor, kit name, stand names – nothing!
Last season, we played in with White Shirts, Red Shorts. This season its Red Shirts, White Shorts and a new bloody badge that no one likes.
Good job you lot aren’t in Africa, because they don’t even get boots down there. Then what would you say…………

i’m suprised people care so much about who the kit make is. moxey’s got us 3 million quid out of the deal – well done to him i say.
i’ll be sticking with the 1989 scoreline shirt though!
Who Cares who the kit is made by as long as it looks ok and is of good quality. We could have got a different kit supplier but would that have had a £3 million pound cheque with it. I think not.
At the end of the day its £3 million in the bank and that will mean half of a 6 mill player like Kevin Doyle.
And as we all know we need 4 or 5 players of his quality for next season.
On the other hand the kits are a tad expensive.
We are never gonna get a big name deal until we are properly established in the premiership, as the major sports stores in this country have got a deal only to sell certain teams shirts.
It’s a football shirt pure and simple.
Having an addidas or nike shirt will not make the team play better.
£3m extra income is what counts.
You’ve got to laugh when people say a kit could put someone off signing for you! Can people REALLY believe this, not normal ones thats for sure!
Could have been Nike, Adidas or Umbro, but hey its gold n black with a wolves badge on it and £3,000,000 in the bank nice one Jez & co.
on a negative point though. All the kids who buy the shirts are all fashion consious especially with the release of old sporting classics like adidas, fila, Tacchini, slazenger etc so a big name really would have sold well, better than Bukta, Admiral & nutmeg etc im sure i will buy one when they are released cum on me babies.
As Victor Meldrew would have said ” I don’t believe it”.
THEY are giving US – £3,000,000 (million) pounds to wear a kit. Add that to winning the next 2 games EQUALS another Kevin Doyle!
If I were running the club and someone offered me enough money they would be playing in whatever was demanded.
Some of my fellow fans need a reality check – if you don’t like the kit, then don’t buy it. But IMHO a good deal for the Wolves following the best results we could have hoped for at the beginning of the season
Report abuse
Cannot have put it better myself 57.Reality check is needed and before anyone is slagged off perhaps we should look at the shirts and merchandise before judgement is made.
Apparantly this has been a 12 MONTH process to find a kit supplier???? who the hell are burdda?
I find it strange that the likes of Adidas, Nike , Puma, Umbro etc couldnt come up with a better deal. I do know tho that Nike do put in a lot of conditions like taking over the running of some club’s club shops and the club actually lost money as a result of their handling.
Lets see how the kit and leisurewear comes out like, but im sure adidas myself would have been the best option
Report abuse
I’m sure other suppliers would have been asked to quote.
If Nike’s offer was say £1million and BURRDA’s offer is £3million, and Moxey had accepted Nike’s offer, just imagine what the fans reaction would have been like.
The guy has simply negotiated the best deal for club. Isn’t that what he is supposed to do?
who is going to want to pay £40 for a top made by a second rate company??
great for the club, I agree.. but another bad deal for the fans
Report abuse
who the???? next it will be hi-tec!!
For god sakes whats the matter with you lot its a bloody football shirt!!! Its the players that play in it that matter, if you ain’t got anything to moan about some of you are never happy are you? Get a life we’re still in the premier and thats all that matters quite frankly if we are still in the EPL this time next year I would give a damn if we did it in a bin liner
Report abuse
If you don’t think it matters then so be it.
I know exactly what the club are trying to do They are aiming at the middle east market. Man Utd make a fortune from merchandising in the far east. Just sounds like cynical marketing to me.
Obviously some of you are more fashion concious than others. One thing that is certain is brands sell. The club would have made sold more units with a branded product.
It does matter to kids what they wear. If you had a choice of a pair of levis jeans or a pair of asda which would you choose.
Yes 3 million is a good deal, but we are a premier league club. We should get more. What isn’t publicised who else put bids in.
No I am not off my rocker. I just feel cheated, the board just assume that fans are stupid and will buy anything as long as it has the clubs badge on.
I have bought most of the kits home and away since 1980′s umbro kits along with t shirts etc. So I buy this stuff.
We are not a non league outfit, so why a naff supplier.
60 – i will pay £40, even though i feel £40 is overpriced for a football shirt, i will pay the money, not because of the name of the kit supplier of sponser, but to show my support for the team that i love. You see, most wolves fans dont care about the little things, and just want to support the team theyve loved all their lives.
Anyway, its an international company that have been making football international tops for a while, so theyre hardly second rate, or they wouldnt be able to afford the £3m.

The reason we’ve gone for them is quite simpe. The likes of Nike, Addidas and Puma pay the top 4 to wear their brand whereas lower status teams (in which we would be classified) would actually pay them to wear their reli-kit with a view to selling more of it as brands like Nike and Addidas have better distribution deals with retailers.
So any Wolves fan with a brain out there ask yourself this question. Would you rather we get £3m from a rubbish brand for the kit or pay the big brands to wear theirs?
Wolfmeister – you’re talking absolutely rubbish.
If you think the brand will deter fans for buying repli-kit your deluded.
These are the facts. Put up and shut up – it’s a kit for heaven’s sake

Robbie Keane = £65,000per week
3 million sponsorship deal pays his wages for 46 weeks

As a Sales & Marketing consultant I will add some food for thought….
Sponsorship is about:
A) Having a sponsor that ‘support’s the brand and helps results.
B) Bringing revenue into the club/business.
For example TAG may sponsor Lewis Hamilton as this supports their racing pedigree (brand) and helps sales (results) of their watches to people that aspire to motor racing, speed etc.
For a football club with a relatively weak brand (Wolves is not Manchester United or Real Madrid) it’s more about bringing revenue into the club through a direct injection of cash. (The £3m that’s been suggested).
As the Wolves brand is relatively weak the fact that BURRDA is a virtually unknown brand in the UK will have little effect on kit sales.
Therefore, in pure revenue generation terms, this is a shrewd and good piece of business.

To be frank I wouldn’t care if it was “Turrda” as long as Wolves do well out of it (and we have).

I’m actuality suprised we got burrda! They are really well known around the sports industry and another 3m for the transfer kitty! Looking forward to the new design!!!! Fed up of hearing all the moans! Keep it up Jez

Bloody hell, mis read it at first….
I thought it said we would be running round in BURKAS.

I just read the news at Burdda.com. I take a look at their kits. Terrible colours…terrible design…terrible football t-shirts. Even a third division Greek club has better shirt than Burdda’s…We are a PL club. Not the national team of Kuwait…or Qatar. Mercy me Mr Moxey…

3 million is a fantastic deal for the club!
And for those whinging about not getting Nike, etc. have a look at the latest Australian shirts by Nike, pure rubbish.

Think i’ll pop across to Switzerland and get one direct, should be easy enough from southern Germany..won’t have to advertise for a multi national betting company either if i negotiate it right…now we just need some new players to put in it!!

how about consulting us,and actually listening for once.this is gna suck, big time.are we really that far in the poor house that we have to snaffle it up because its the most money?im actually honestly gutted about this

Big names? Nike, Adidas? Who cares.
It isn’t about the name, it’s about the product, the quality, the colour (please – old gold with black ‘Sportingbet’)
I wanna see something like the TATUNG sponsored shirt of the early 80′s in a similar silky material.
Let’s reserve judgement till we’ve seen the kit in the flesh. Hope the away kit is white with black trim as is traditional as well..

It’s a false economy. The club would sell three times as many shirts if the shirts were manufactured by a recognised “football” brand. Umbro, Nike & Adidas are at the top of their game for a reason. The Wolves board need a marketing lesson on branding.
Branding and design is the way of the world, and we all make purchasing decisions based on brand perception.
Whilst the design, the fit and the fabric of the shirt is not in question I can’t help thinking that this is a leg-up for Burrda and their aspirations to be a player in UK football merchandising market, albeit with lower league clubs.

BIG MISTAKE!!!
typical moxey after the money, why not just get nike or a big name, im 15 and i really ent looking forward to wearing this in the streets atall. a kit sponcer is nothing anyway :) we are wolves its the players and the fans that matter most at the club, come on you wolves!!!!!

OMG, what a disaster !
So, whereas the big teams get to wear shirts made from the belly hairs of baby llamas in Peru, hand-woven by virgins and stitched by princesses; we’ll be stuck with a shirt made of re-cycled used condoms with barbed-wire lining, sellotaped together by trained chimpanzees.
I’ve never heard of Burrda. And we’ve already established that anything we’ve never heard of can’t be any good. Unknown footballer – pah ! must be a donkey. Unknown clothing manufacturer – pah ! must be rubbish.
So what if they’re all actually made in the same sweat shops in China from the same material ? A decent label makes it worth 10x more – and that’s a price I’d be willing to pay, because I’m deep, and not shallow at all.
I want to know who’s going to explain this to my son ? Kids at his school spit on any football shirt that’s not Nike, Umbro or Adidas – so who’s going to clean all the phlegm off him ? It’s just not healthy. Is Jez Moxey going to pay his hospital bills ?
We’re going to be the laughing stock of the entire country – because obviously all football fans are obsessed by who makes the kit. Win or lose doesn’t matter. What matters is who makes your kit. Why can’t Jez see that ? You wouldn’t have seen Billy Wright wearing this Burrda kit. He only ever wore… er… well, whatever they wore when what mattered was the quality of the football.
Oh, the calamity of it ! The shame, the disgrace. We should all boycott the new shirts and go to the game in sackcloth and ashes – weeping and wailing and gnashing our teeth.
On the other hand, they might look pretty cool – and they’re Wolves shirts after all… :)

everyone stop moaning about who are kit suplier as long as the team plays well week in week out who cares what we are running round in but in my mind all loyal wolves fans will buy the shirt

AAGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!! i echo nearly 100% of the comments here! wat the? and who the? im sick of these cheap manufacturers making us look like a asda price outfit! He keeps banging on about “we have listened to the fans” etc etc well NO YOU HAVE NOT! because look at all these posts!! all fans want is a decent kit from adidas, nike, puma who give quality smart designs with great accessories also! jeeeeeeez! is it that difficult? another year without a shirt for me! RUBBISH!! believe me MR MOXEY the money you would make using the above names would far exceed the 3M your getting with this bag of rubbish! V POOR DECISION IMO

Do you really think a professional footballer with the money they earn are going to feel proud sporting this cheapo brand??
Yes it is cheapo as we’ve never heard of them, and it’s likely they will be supplying non-league, schools and other non professional outfits before long in the UK.
Where is the logic….the established brands have pumped millions into research and developed technology, doesn’t our players deserve those garments considering the level we play at?
Would a F1 team put their driver in a cheapo unproven racing suit, or a racing suit that Go-Kart racers wear?
Jez you’ve lost the plot, but then again I’m sure your house is littered with cheapo brands which we ain’t heard of too.
Is that a Fake Sekonda you are wearing?

you miss my point…
lots of clubs have “good manufacturers” and I do not doubt that this is a good deal for the club, but in every direction you look, we, as fans, are getting screwed… hard.
Yes, it’s a busines.. yes it’s good for the club, yes mmm’s are doing a decent job, but let us not forget who are the important people here.
My point is that if you were walking around John Lewis’ and you saw a nike top for £40 and a burrda top for £40 which one would you buy?
All of these tops are probably made in the same places, all are the same material and yes they all probably cost the club about a fiver to buy, but with the club enjoying such a massive windfall surely they can give the club a brand to be proud?? why think small? why not try to upgrade our reputation in the world?
Is Jez trying to convince us all that BURRDA have a good middle eastern connection which is better than nike, adidas, reebok (et al)?
I notice burrda manufacture kits for such footballing giants as Al-Arabi, Al Rayyan, Al-Wakrah, Quatar, Al Gharafa.. hardly footballing giants in the far east (I checked their respective leagues).
I do not doubt that the kits will be “nice”, in fact all of their kits seem quite similar and I would expect our kit to be similar to the qatar national team’s ( http://www.burrda.com/Product.aspx?PID=125&CID=19 )
I repeat… good deal for the club.. really crap deal for the fans. however, if we bring in robbie keane from the money raised then i’ll be happy… but don’t hold your breath

Wolves fans are unbelievable.
We’ve avoided relegation – we are still premier league against the odds, we have three million quid coming into the club, and you are all still moaning!!!
“Oooohhhh, it’s not fair, all the cool kids have got Umbro, Nike and we have this cheapo brand…” Boo hoo!
Still – it’s good that you can all find something to winge about, after our best season for 25 years…

Hello all you dedicated followers of fashion.
You are a total embarrassment.
You’ve used it as another stick to beat Jez Moxey and the club with.
This is a deal that benefits the club and yet you’ve come on whinging in your dozens about a kit you’ve not even seen.
Best comment of the lot (and I can’t be bothered to rewind to name the clown)
Would Robbie Keane sign for us if he had to wear a Burrda Shirt ? No !
Priceless !

No doubt Jez Moxeys and Steve Morgan kids will be kitted out in Burdda tracksuits and sports kit when they do PE in their private schools.
Kids will not want to wear this stuff, whats more they players aren’t going to be happy. No it shouldn’t matter but it does.
Get real people the real reason we have gone to Burdda is cause the shirts will be cheaper so they can make a bigger profit. The club are assumuming we are all stupid and will still buy in droves whatever. We’re being treated as mugs.
I don’t expect us the be walking out in Nike but surely something more respectable than this. There was nothing wrong with le coq sportif. We are in the Premier League for G0d Sake.
Of course we are in the company of fine sporting pedigree Qatar, Kuwait – unbeleivable.
And for the record I have looked at their existing catalogue and to be honest the kits look like Sunday league kits.

Please can we start talking about football – I’m losing the will to live reading all this drivel.
102, 111 too many more to mention. Have you ever heard a footballer say ‘I was going to sign for X on £40 000 a week, but I just couldn’t possibly wear that kit’? It beggars belief that any of you muppets really believe that.
I know it has hurt you that you cant spend the summer telling us you were right all along about Wolves not being good enough to survive but at least find something better than this to whine about.

Whilst £3m in the coffers is all very nice, I cannot help but feel that Wolves have overlooked the commercial potential that a branded kit supplier would bring.
With the quite extreme controversy on this thread I am getting the feeling that sales are not likely to soar. Pitch that against a branded kit which sells by the tens of thousands (including training/leisurewear) and I am certain that the initial £3m injection would soon be eclipsed.
I note some posters belittling the whole branding argument but the reason that these companies are successful is that they shift kits in numbers because they are popular! Hence they don’t have to give large inducements to clubs to take their kit.
As hard as I try to convince myself that this is good business, I can’t help but ignore the whole big club big image thing!
Stoke city is a well run profit orientated club, if Burrda were such a catch then why do they choose Adidas?
Burrda, indeed.I for one will not buy one,as i see myself as bit old for wearing football shirts (42).However,i still like wearing sportswear,(t-shirts,tracksuits,and sweats)I would happily pay good money for branded stuff,as i did with Le Coq,but you won’t catch me wearing Burrda, just the same as i didn’t wear Nutmeg and Bukta. My 2 lads will only wear top brands such as Adidas Nike and Umbro, like a lot of other kids beacause they don’t like second best.
I appreciate that Jez has got the club £3m from the deal, but when you consider we wasted more than that on Hoff and Halford,it would have been better to go for a market leading brand and sell more of their ranges, which no doubt would have happened.
God all mighty- Jez has done the best deal for the club, shirt prices are staying the same AND STILL SOME OF YOU PRATS! MOAN, trouble is some of you have not forgiven him for the a—-n having the south bank, but forget that the SB has always been the away end – and still is!
Get off his back or go and support somebody else – what a bunch of moaning morons!

Simple amswer to questions why use burdda it’s because they are trying to get into the prem, all the big names (and bigger prices) had to start somewere – totally agree with Noisy – we have stayed up and you cretins can’t stand it – GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who cares what it looks like, its a football shirt. Have we all turned into Jean-paul Gaultier all of a sudden. Its a good deal! It can’t be as bad as having to wear a tescos bag.
I cant believe the reaction of some “fans”.
With a manufacturer like Burdda, wolves can command a better profit per shirt, rather than Nike/Adidas/Umbro etc, who would take up to 50% of shirt sales.
Blues are also a club that have an unknown shirt maker so we wont be on our own.
Get real folks, £3m is a massive deal for us and i cant wait to see the retro style shirts.
Agree that it would be good to have a Nike, Kappa or Puma – they do produce the most stylish kits in my opinion.
Check out the Burrda website guys. To be fair, they have some nice designs. Having said that, Wolves are bound to mess it up as usual. They never quite get if right do they??

The mock-ups of the kit i have seen look promising and if you visit the BURRDA website and view the Qatar kit it is very similar to that

I didn’t like this season’s kit one bit so I’ll reserve judgment but £40 is overpriced for a big name and it’s way overpriced for a budget supplier. Shirt price fixed for 10 years just shows how much we’ve been ripped off over those years. They’ll be selling home brew for £4 at the bar if they can get away with it.

OOH!! Listen to you lot of fashionista’s !!!

Can every1 stop moaning about the kit. Its a shirt thats got us an extra £3m to add to the kitty for quality players. How we look doesnt affect the way we play does it. It shouldnt. If you dont like the kit, Then dont buy it. But Im going to get it Because im a wolves supporter and i will wear THE WOLVES SHIRT.

They should lower the price to around £25
These shirts are a rip off.
