Sylvan looks to kick on for Wolves

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake insists he can become a regular scorer in the Premier League after bagging the goal that helped clinch top flight safety,
Liverpool’s 4-0 win at Burnley yesterday means Wolves cannot be caught, after Ebanks-Blake’s equaliser sealed a 1-1 draw against Blackburn on Saturday.
The 24-year-old striker, who scored with his first touch after coming off the bench, always remained confident of scoring goals in the Premier League.
He said: “I’m always confident I can score goals no matter what league it is in given the chance, and I still remain confident. I’ve got to do my talking on the pitch, whether that be next season or the season after.
“That’s what I plan to do and I’m working hard every day on the training ground to achieve that.”
The goal was only Ebanks-Blake’s second of the season but is confident of being a better player for the experience, after being out of the team for long spells.
He said: “I think you learn all the time, especially at my age as well. It’s been a brilliant experience for me, so I’ll definitely learn from it because it’s something I’ve not experienced before.
“I’ll just take it on board and hopefully get stronger.”
Ebanks-Blake admitted the goal saw his confidence flood back.
He said: “Goals breed confidence, any striker will tell you that.
“Once I got the goal, I was in a bit of a rhythm and I thought maybe we could capitalise but we were happy to take the point and see if it stands us in good stead.”
Ebanks-Blake never doubted whether his future was at Molineux.
He said: “No, never. While I’m still involved, and still a Wolves player, that’s my only focus, to play games and work hard.
“I’m not one of those people who when they drop out of the team will start kicking up a fuss.
“I’ve barely spoken to anyone. I’ve remained professional, gone about my business and worked hard on the training ground – I’m a Wolves player.”
Ebanks-Blake believes his team-mates deserve to be staying in the Premier League.
He said: “They deserve it. We’ve really dug in. We’ve learnt to play at this level.
“We all thought we could and we deserve to stay up.”

Good on Ebanks for getting that important goal.
Unfortunately he’s had a disappointing season. He’s looked unfit, not sharp and also not prepared to do the same running as other members of the team.
That said, he can certainly produce moments of quality and it is those that get goals.
If SEB applies himself a bit more next season then yes he could do well. If sits and waits for the ball to come to him and expects chances to be delivered to him on a plate, then he won’t be scoring much next season either.

Good on ya SEB :)
