16:55: It was all about the Premier League relegation battle this afternoon as Wolves are now within 24 hours of possibly securing their Premier League safety, which will be confirmed if Burnley fail to beat Liverpool at home tomorrow.

Hull are practically down after losing at home to Sunderland today, which was compounded by West Ham winning a five-goal thriller against Wigan at Upton Park.

It was good news as well for Walsall, who recorded their fourth home win in a row with a 3-1 defeat of Hartlepool.

Now all eyes will be on the Second City derby tomorrow as Villa host Birmingham in a midday showdown, then to Selhurst Park as Albion go to Crystal Palace, when the Eagles can secure survival with a win.

16:50: Full-time around the grounds across the country.

16:36: A big goal at Molineux – and what a time for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake to get his second goal of the season! Wolves get the equaliser at home to Blackburn and the sub had only been on for a minute!

16:32: It’s a thriller at Upton Park as the tide turns yet again, West Ham take the lead for a second time through Scott Parker’s drilled effort to make it 3-2 at home to Wigan.

16:31: Walsall look out of sight against Blackpool at the Banks’s Stadium now, Richard Taundry with the goal that has the Saddlers 3-1 up and heading for their fourth home win in a row.

16:23: You can bet Portsmouth are pleased that Lens waived their right to payment and allowed Aruna Dindane to play at Bolton, the striker has just scored his second of the game to pull Pompey level from two goals down.

16:09: Portsmouth pull a goal back after going two goals down at Bolton, Aruna Dindane marking his recall to the side with a reply for Pompey.

16:07: Another twist in the tale at Upton Park as Wigan come back to level the game at 2-2, Hugo Rodallega with the equaliser for Wigan.

16:00: Second-half around the grounds across the country.

15:46: A huge goal for West Ham as they turn it around for behind to lead against Wigan at Upton Park, Radoslav Kovac with the goal some five minutes into first-half stoppage time.

15:45: Half-time around the grounds across the country.

15:39: It’s drama at Hull as the home side are awarded a penalty against Sunderland with the scores level, after former Tigers defender Michael Turner’s challenge on Geovanni, but Jimmy Bullard misses the penalty!

15:31: A vital equaliser for West Ham at home to Wigan, on-loan striker Ilan with as important a strike as he will score all season.

15:29: Walsall bounce back quickly to retake the lead at home to Hartlepool, Troy Deeney restoring the advantage just two minutes after the equaliser.

15:28: Could be a long day for Portsmouth as they fall further behind at Bolton, Kevin Davies with the goal that puts the home side two goals up without reply.

15:28: It’s more bad news for Molineux as Wolves go behind against Blackburn, Ryan Nelsen up from the back to give Rovers the lead.

15:27: The Banks’s Stadium crowd are silenced after Hartlepool snatch the equaliser against Walsall, on-loan Sunderland striker Roy O’Donovan with the goal.

15:26: It doesn’t get any better for bottom club Portsmouth in the Premier League as they fall behind at the Reebok Stadium, Ivan Klasnic putting Bolton ahead with his seventh goal of the season.

15:07: Our teams in the region are up and running with Walsall taking the lead at home to Hartlepool, looking toward their fourth home win in a row through Julian Gray’s fourth goal of the season.

15:07: A big boost for Wolves away from Molineux as Hull are shoved nearer to the relegation trapdoor, through Darren Bent’s 25th goal of the season for Sunderland at the KC Stadium.

15:04: Disaster for West Ham early on in the relegation battle against Wigan at Upton Park, and Jonathan Spector wants the ground to open up and swallow him after putting through his own net.

15:00: Kick-off around the grounds across the country.

14:45: It’s a big result for Manchester United in the early kick-off against in-form Tottenham at Old Trafford, as two penalties from Ryan Giggs and a goal from Nani cancel out Ledley King’s equaliser.

14:30: Our teams in the region are spread out the schedule this weekend, with Wolves leading the way in their chance to virtually ensure Premier League survival and end their home hoodoo to boot against Blackburn at Molineux.

Walsall also play host this afternoon in the visit of Hartlepool to the Banks’s Stadium, with the Saddlers looking to record their fourth home win in a row.

It’s the big one in B6 at midday tomorrow as Villa are at home to second city neighbours Birmingham, with Blues looking to avenge their late defeat in the corresponding fixture last September.

Albion, with nothing to play for, have the chance to heighten Crystal Palace’s relegation worries at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

As I write this Wolves losing 1-0 and Hull losing 1-0,if it stays as it is wolves are safe. This just about sums up the season,we are getting carried away with just staying up,but the problem is it’s not what we have done its the other teams around being so poor.Let there be no mistake it’s going to be much, much tougher next year and there is no way this team is going to repeat the feat again. We need to replace 5 or 6 with quality players.Dont get me wrong I am delighted we have done it this year but I am very worried that people are getting a little bit out of touch with reality.Up the Wolves.
