Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Birmingham 1 Liverpool 1
Sunday 4th April 2010, 4:57PM BST.
Birmingham came back to stun Liverpool in the second-half at St Andrew’s and take their second point of the season from the Merseyside club.
Blues had trailed to Reds skipper Steven Gerrard’s goal shortly after the break but, not for the first time this season, defender Liam Ridgewell came up from the back to force home the equaliser.
Liverpool had threatened in the first-half with Maxi Rodriguez hitting the bar, before the home side themselves went close with a header over from Ridgewell’s defensive colleague Roger Johnson.
But it couldn’t have been a much worse start to the second-half for the hosts, who fell behind just two minutes after the break to Gerrard’s strike, after the skipper had showed good control to take Glen Johnson’s mishit pass under his wing and turn Lee Bowyer to fire in.
Still, cometh the hour and cometh Ridgewell on 56 minutes, with the defender again in the right place at the right time to meet James McFadden’s cross and bundle the ball in for his fourth goal of the season.
