Albion midfielder Steven Reid is "not looking beyond the next 90 minutes" after extending his loan from Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season.

Reid is anxious to complete the promotion quest which has engaged the Baggies all season and will continue his highly-valued role at right back against Leicester tomorrow night.

But the 29-year-old remains uncertain about what his long term plans, although the dual prize of a permanent transfer to a Baggies team playing top-flight football next season is at the back of his mind.

He said: "My future's a bit uncertain. I'm not letting it worry me. First and foremost I'm looking to the next game and the next 90 minutes. If I do well it would be nice, contract-wise, if something could be there. That's down to how I do along with how the head coach and club see it.

"If I keep performing well and that leads to a longer stay at the club then I will be delighted - iit will mean I've done well for the club."

Rovers have the right to recall Reid, who is out of contract in the summer, at anytime but the player is fully focussed on helping Albion clinch a return to the Barclays Premier League over the last six games - and hopefully securing a long-term deal having overcome injury problems of recent years.

He said: "We've had a decent run and I'm delighted to have played so many games. The gaffer seems to be happy with how things have gone by keeping me in the team.

"I think I've played five 90-minutes in 21 days. Before that I hadn't played five 90-minutes in the league in well over a year. I've tried to get to know everyone and I feel I've fitted in pretty well.

"Maybe a more senior member of the squad is something the team needed."

More positive news for Albion is Gonzalo Jara's faster-than-expected recovery a broken metatarsal in his right foot.

The versatile midfielder was ruled out until next season, but is now targeting the Baggies' final game of the season against Barnsley as a possible return to action.

Boss Roberto Di Matteo said: "Jara's been back for a few weeks now and hopefully we'll be able to get him back onto the pitch for the last game of the season - that's what we're aiming for."
