Hahnemann’s belief in survival race

Wolves goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann has not even looked at the Premier League table because of his belief that the team’s destiny is in their own hands.

Helped by Manchester City’s 3-0 win over Wigan last night, Mick McCarthy’s men go into Saturday’s game at Arsenal in 14th, five points clear of the drop zone with six games left after taking eight points from their last four games.

But Hahnemann said: “I don’t even know how many points we’ve got right now, so I don’t now what it’s going to take to stay up. I try not to look at the table, I don’t know.

“Being five points clear, our destiny is in our own hands, so we don’t have to worry about what other people do.

“It would be nice if the other teams lost every game between now and the end of the season, but that’s not going to happen. It’s what we do now that’s important.”

Hahnemann admits the confidence gained from their recent run could play a huge factor in their chances of staying up.

He said: “It’s probably going to go down to the last weekend, but the way we’re playing is great and everyone is in good spirits and you can’t beat that. It gives you so much confidence. We have a great group of guys, and I’m really enjoying it.

“But the competition within that group is fierce and the attitude among the guys is still really positive. That is super important to keep everyone happy.”

Marcus, if you did look at the table you would realise its Pompey, Burnley and West Ham or possibly Hull. Were safe Marcus, in no small measure to you! USA!!!

Chewy, just keep on doing what you do! If you can’t bother with the red-tops or any other rag that spouts on about the demise of Wolves, then good on you! Myself, along with many of the true supportrs know that we just have to believe and the season will come good…and it will! UTW
