Burr looking for the Harriers spark
Monday 29th March 2010, 8:45AM BST.
Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr admits his team have lost their spark as their big dip in form continued with a home defeat against Salisbury.
Saturday’s surprise 1-0 defeat to their struggling opponents at Aggborough all but ended faint hopes of a play-off challenge this season, leaving the club marooned in mid-table some 17 points from the top five with nine games left to play.
It was an opportunity missed in the second of three home matches in a row, which have so far both ended in defeat to York and the Whites.
Tomorrow night’s visit of Cambridge, who leapfrogged a place above them into 11th with a 3-0 home against Histon on Saturday, caps off a miserable March for Harriers with seven games played and no wins to show for it.
And boss Burr has conceded that his players appear to be running out of steam after marching into an FA Trophy semi-final and the play off picture back in February.
He said: “They are young lads and we’ve got a very young team here. We’ve just got to stick together and look forward to tomorrow night, which will be a tough game again.
“But we have just lot a bit of a spark from what we had a month ago.”
