Rangers loan Port Vale duo
Friday 26th March 2010, 8:30AM GMT.
Stafford Rangers have signed Port Vale duo Ross Davidson and Danny Glover on loan from League Two Port Vale with both set to start at home to Fleetwood.
Davidson returns to the club after spending two months on loan at Marston Road earlier in the season, while Glover plays in the Blue Square North for the first time in his career.
Both are 20-years-old and will be thrust straight into the fray tomorrow, after joining for a month which will take them right up to the end of the campaign.
Davidson is expected to slot straight into the midfield spot vacated by Michael Burns, who returned to League One Carlisle this week at the end of his two-month loan deal, while Glover is expected to start in attack alongside captain Nick Wellecomme.
But it’s the end of the Rangers road for defender Manny Udoji, who left the club this week to join Bromley. The 21-year-old had lost his place to Grant Goodhead and decided to join a club closer to his London home.
After a frantic week on the transfer front, manager Chris Brindley now turns to the visit of the league leaders looking to end a nine-game winless run.
He said: “We are just interested in ourselves, irrespective of who the opposition are. We haven’t won for a long time, and if we don’t pick up soon we will get sucked into trouble. Maybe six points will secure safety for us but it’s still in our own hands.
“On paper, anything we get out of tomorrow’s game is a bonus, and then we have got to beat Vauxhall Motors at home next weekend.”
Rangers still miss left-back Jon Patrick with a knee injury, but should welcome right-back Andre Francis back to the squad after hamstring trouble.
