Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Beye looking at way out of Villa

Villa defender Habib Beye could be forced to leave the club in the summer after revealing his unrest at a lack of first-team opportunities.
The 32-year-old signed in a £2.5million deal from Newcastle last summer, but the right-back has made just 10 appearances this term.
His last Premier League appearance was in November and the Senegal international was an unused substitute in Sunday’s Carling Cup final defeat to Manchester United.
He said: “Things are not going too well for me at Villa. I have only played in 10 games in all competitions. This is the first time in 12 years I have had a season like this and it is not easy for me to put up with.
“I am 32, I feel in good physical shape and I don’t see myself sitting on the bench. If I can’t express myself as a footballer with Aston Villa, it will be elsewhere.
“It is the manager’s choice. You have to respect his decisions.”
Beye, who is believed to earn £40,000 a week on a three-year deal at Villa, saw a move to Sunderland scuppered by his wage demands and the full-back would prefer to stay in the Premier League rather than return to French football.
He said: “French clubs don’t punch at the same weight as English ones when it comes to salaries. Returning to France would be complicated for me.
“The wages in England are twice as high and I can’t see a French club investing that much money in a player.
“I would consider an interesting challenge in France, but the salary is the problem.”

I fully understand. How could you possibly play (or not as the case may be) for less that £40,000 per week? I wouldn’t take a drop in my £200 per week salary either. At least he’s honest but these footballers are so out of touch I’ve had enough.
